There was no option for zero , otherwise I want to select 0 star , me and my husband went there for a dinner on valentine day . At first , the server forced us to sit on the small table which is near to reception. We tell her that please give us other table .. even most of the tables were empty , only 2 tables were occupied by others . she stared making excuse that If we get busy , then we ‘ll have to tell you to change the table . Then I asked her , are tables booked by others , she said no . But if people come then I have to tell you to change the table .. but my question is why ? Others will also pay for food , and we will also pay .. I don’t know why she was rude with us . Still we adjust , and sit on the small table , chair . After that the same server , came for order . Then We ordered appetizers, at the same time , she started forcing us to order main course and other things at the same . We said , we did not select yet , about other things , can you please bring appetizers first . She didn’t listen to us and forced to order others things at same time . Her behaviour was rude . She ruined our dinner . After this behaviour, we tell her that we are leaving and don’t want to order anything and she said ok . They don’t know how to treat customers. 0 star service . During my visit, I ordered a mix of dishes that showcased the restaurant’s range. I tried the Bhatura and Butter Naan paired with Kadahi Lamb, which were delicious and expertly spiced. The lamb was tender, and the spices were well-balanced, enhancing the authentic flavor of the dish. I also ordered the Vegetable Fried Rice. Although it was tasty, the portion was smaller than expected, which left me wanting a bit more.
To finish off the meal, I indulged in Rasamalai for dessert, and it was truly the highlight. The soft, creamy texture and sweet, fragrant flavors were mouth-watering and made for a perfect end to my dining experience.
Overall, Daana Pani delivered on taste, and I enjoyed the meal thoroughly. Next time, I’m looking forward to trying other items from their diverse menu, as their dishes promise a memorable experience. For anyone craving Indian cuisine in Halifax, this restaurant is...
Read moreI recently ordered from Daana Paani Indian Restaurant in Halifax, and it was extremely disappointing. I ordered Golgappe and Chaat Papdi, and both items were a complete letdown.
The Chaat Papdi arrived with all the sauces completely melted and mixed into a soggy mess — no texture, no flavor, just a sloppy, watery dish. As for the Golgappe, they only sent the puris and some boiled aloo — no flavored water at all (the main component that makes golgappe what they are!).
To make things worse, when I called the restaurant, they conveniently tried to blame the Uber driver, but the moment I mentioned the issue, they already knew all my order details — proving they were aware of what was missing. This clearly wasn’t the driver’s fault, but their own oversight. Very frustrating experience.
For a restaurant that claims to serve authentic Indian street food, this was a big fail — both in quality and accountability. I won’t be ordering again and wouldn't recommend them if you're expecting even basic standards of...
