Golden Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Halton Hills

This is by far the best fish and chips I have ever had. It is so good that if I only had one meal left and I could choose anything from anywhere, this would be it. My favorite order is two orders of halibut with one order of fries. I would saturate the fish with vinegar. I am from CT (USA). My Mom is from Terra Cotta, so we were able to go there once or twice a year during our visits. We might have even made two stops during each trip. I think we started going in the late 70s or early 80s. The place hasn't changed. I love that! It is classic! The service and owners have always been amazing! I was hoping to take a trip this summer, but with the current situation, that may not happen. I hope that this place never closes. I hope it stays open forever. It is just the best!!! Decided to go back here after a break due to the quality. They have been consistently getting worse over time. I see a lot of 5 star reviews here.....are you eating at the same place?

I'm not sure what's happened this time but it got WORSE!!! It was terrible!! For the prices they charge i expect way way better!!! The fish was just a thin piece with tons of batter which is ok because I used to love their batter. This time the batter was crumbly!! See the pic!! The family always orders fish and chips from Golden Fish and Chips and for each order its a box. Today we ordered two orders but received one box of fries with two small pieces of fish. This was in the regular box it has always come in the past. When we called we were told that's how it always is but as mentioned we order often for the family and never experienced this.
