So last night my family and I went here for my birthday dinner as I turned 19 it was quite a big deal (according to my family) so there was 8 of us.
When we first got there we were seated and my father and I ordered coke my grandparents ordered beer and we waited on the rest of my family. I ordered a bruschetta which came quickly which was fine. However all ate of us ordered our food and my dad being a picky person asked for a pizza with just mushroom onions and pepperoni. He did not want cheese as he doesn’t like it at all. The waiter informed him he can’t customize a pizza like that so he had to order a pizza on the menu and customize it. My dad was charged $3.00 for onions however he didn’t get cheese so to me this makes no sense. As a former waitress if someone ordered no cheese but onions I would not charge them for the onions. Anyhow. My grandpa ordered a salad and chicken parm (salad first) we all waited at least 45 minutes for our food to come out. When the food came out my grandpas salad came out with the rest of the food which is not how he asked it. All seven of us got our food however the pizza my dad ordered which was a struggle to order in the first place was taken to the wrong table so my dad had to wait an extra ten minutes for his pizza while everyone else ate there’s.
Moving on the whole time my dad and I kept getting coke to drink as the waiter DID NOT tell us that it wasn’t free refills which in my opnion is something you should mention. Every other waitress has mentioned it to me and my boyfriend when we have gone there before. So my dad was charged for 7 Coke’s all being 2 dollars each.
Moving on as I said it was my 19th birthday and so the waiter brought my a dessert which my dad didn’t ask him for. I thought it was very nice of him however my dad was looking over the bill today and was charged NINE DOLLARS for the dessert. Which to me wasn’t even that good and for sure wasn’t worth the nine dollars. As a former waitress I would never charge someone for a birthday dessert whether they asked for it or not.
Overall I am very unimpressed. I have been here four times already since you guys opened but this has made me change my mind about coming tocyour restaurant and we will no longer be...
Read moreThe young male manager they have working there in the evening is absolutely brutal!!! I asked about a kids pepperoni pizza to this young man as I was standing with my five year old son. This ‘manager’ told me they did actually have pepperoni for kids and can customize the pizza. Great right? Wrong... then he comes out with some pizza with what looks like shaved Salami. I asked about this thinking they made a mistake and put that on instead of the pepperoni. He told me “no that’s is pepperoni sir” so I pointed out that I specifically asked about a kids pepperoni pizza - clearly a five year old is not going to be keen on trying some weird looking shaved meat just because this guy says it’s pepperoni. He’s five... obviously would be expecting your typical pepperoni pizza. On top of that they overcharged for the kids meal on my bill nearly ten dollars and I pointed out an error on my bill (no big deal, it happens) but then he started arguing with me that it was correct until I was eventually able to point out the error to him which was really quite clear (charged wrong amount for kids meal right there in black and white) then he came back while I was mid conversation with a colleague and slammed it down in front of me, interrupting and saying “is this to your liking now?” Extremely rude and was clearly trying to make it seem like I was complaining unreasonably. I asked to speak to a manager after and was shocked to find this individual is actually the manager there... I raised my concern with his rude statement and argumentative demeanor to which he said “well maybe I guess I could possibly see how this might be seen as potentially rude in your eyes” seriously man? Just own up to your mistake and apologize. This guy is a rude gutless coward and far from a “good-fella” worst experience ever at a restaurant hands down. Too bad since the food is pretty good and the rest of the staff seems friendly. This guy has to go! I won’t be back as long as he is there... also I find it funny I was told I had to pay an 18% automatic gratuity considering this atrocity of a customer service experience. Sure I agree that should be the case in a big group like ours but not with service like this. Embarrassed for...
Read moreI emailed this to goodfellas but I didn’t even get a response from them and it’s been a whole week.
Good evening,
I need to write in about the experience that we had at the Georgetown Goodfellas tonight. I will add that I have been to this location several times and have not had issues similar to this.
The waitress took our order - we ordered a calamari, siciliana marghetita pizza with chicken and a latte.
The server came back to the table and told us that there was an “issue with the coffee machine” so we were unable to order the latte. Which is understandable.
When the pizza was brought to our table I was surprised to see only 6-7 pieces of chicken as we paid an additional $9.00 for this. Anyways - we asked the server if we could have the hot chilli oil for dipping.
The waitress brought over this disgusting oily bottle to the table. We asked if we could have something to pour the oil in as we only had the wooden board that the pizza was on. She seemed very confused that we were asking for something to pour the oil in and said “I guess I could bring you some plates”. So I said “sure that would be great”. The waitress never returned with the plates….We had to take plates from a neighbouring table that was set up for other guests.
The pizza was horrible. The worst pizza I have ever had in my life. It was definitely over cooked and just crumbling when you took a bite. I literally could not taste anything but “burnt”. I have attached photos so you can see the condition of the pizza that was served to us.
We literally picked the toppings off of the top and told the waitress that it was over cooked and tasted burnt. She asked if there was anything else we would like instead. We declined and asked for the bill.
I was absolutely shocked to have been charged the full amount for this pizza (and $9.00 for chicken) when we nearly left 3/4 of the whole pizza on the table.
I am looking for a response in regards to this situation as this was totally unacceptable and was not handled appropriately by the waitress.
Thank you,
Jamie
