We love Thai food and because this restaurant had great reviews we decided to give it a try.
There are approximately 9 free parking spots located behind the restaurant.
The front of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and very inviting. There is a ample patio seating located at the front of the restaurant facing the roadway.
The side was well decorated and clean. The bathroom however needs a better cleaning; although the main components of the bathroom were clean, there was layers of dust on top of the pictures and spider webs hanging from the ceiling.
Although the restaurant music was a very nice classical type, it would be better to have authentic Thai dinner music instead to suit the atmosphere.
We ordered the calamri for an appetizer and WOW it blew us away! We go to a lot of Thai restaurants but nothing compares to theirs. It was truly the best we have ever had. It was very well seasoned and fried to perfection without it being over cooked like so many are.
The hot and sour soup was delicious and well seasoned.
The Mango salad was seasoned with seasame oil and vinegar and delicious.
The Green Currie Veg was ordered with extra spice and was absolutely delicious! It was on the sweet side, which is something I'm not used to, but still had great flavors!
The Veg Pad Thai was well cooked and seasoned. We added the tofu which was well cooked. It was a fairly large portion so we ended up taking some of it home. Vegetables are cooked to crispy tenderness which is just the way we like them done.
This restaurant is place we would definitely return to...
Read moreGreat food, fantastic quality with good prices. A super cozy atmosphere for lunch and especially dinner, and takeout is always quick.
The staff is genuinely wonderful, everyone is always super nice and very helpful with specific questions about dishes or just with giving suggestions on new things to try. They can also make most things on the menu gluten-free or vegetarian if it isn't by default; which is always a plus. I've actually had a situation before where I ordered takeout for myself and due to my own mistake I didn't realize the dish had wheat in it. When I got there to pick it up the lady behind the counter had taken the liberty to have the kitchen make it gluten-free for me as she had noticed in my order history that I always get my food made that way. She double checked with me when I got there to make sure this was ok and that if not she'd have the kitchen make up a normal one right away. Needless to say I thanked her profusely for doing that. I hadn't realized it had gluten to begin with and with her going just that one extra step she saved me a lot of strife.
Now all of that aside. Their menu is rather extensive, with no lack for choice and there's so much to try. I have never had anything less than a stellar experience here and I'd recommend Lily...
Read moreI have lived in Georgetown for over 5 years now, and used to LOVE Lily Thai. There was an incident where we ordered food to go, and found some metal piece in our food - apparently it is from their "cleaning scrubbers" (which was investigated by health and safety, who told us they get calls often for this same reason), but being dumb, I still loved the food, and just thought of this as unlucky. However, recently I have realized this place has terrible customer service as well! I don't know what happened, but ever since they have moved, I have found the staff to be very rude, and also the owner! I ordered soup on a COLD rainy day, (and was very sick) and the front entrance had construction going on so I was unable to park in the front as usual, I had voiced this to the manager and she abruptly , told me to walk; IN THE RAIN. When I told her that it wasn't a good idea to do that as I was sick and didn't have an umbrella on me, she told me never to order from there again. Very upsetting as I have seen the decline in this restaurant. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant as I was that night. Lily Thai, you have now lost a customer + family + friends who VERY OFTEN ordered from...
