I’ve previously been here and decided to come back to get a drink and to try the grand opening 10 won coin cake they advertised on Instagram. Came around noonish and was the only person in the cafe. I placed my order to go as I was on my lunch break (keyword here is TO GO). The staff told me to sit and wait at a table and they’ll bring everything over. I got my drink within a few minutes and was told she’d bring the food over shortly. Fast forward 15-20 minutes later and still no food had been brought to the table so I could leave. The 2 staff members were just standing behind the counter talking, clearly not making the item I ordered. I checked the time and realized I had to go if I wanted to make it back to work on time so I just walked out and left. One of the staff members chased me down and said that I had ordered food and that it would only take 2 minutes if I wait. I told her to forget about it, I had to go or I’d be late. I’d already been waiting too long and I didn’t want to waste any more of my time.
Not sure if the etiquette is different at Korean cafes where they only make your food after you’re done your drink or something, but I would think “to go” means “to go” there as well as in the customer wants both items somewhat quickly so they can leave. I guess the staff must've just gotten distracted and forgotten to make it? Too bad because I do like the drinks that I’ve tried here (matcha and americano are both great) but I’ll never bother with ordering food again unless I don't have anywhere to...
Read moreCame across Coffee Brick passing by about a month ago, and have been a regular since. The clean and peaceful atmosphere really drew me in. Everything I’ve received from this location has been amazing, the drinks, food and service.
The Iced Matcha Latte is a very nice and earthy tasting matcha, not too bitter or watered down. The Strawberry Matcha Latte being very similar but having a sweet and refreshing strawberry purée, absolutely delicious. The Yuzu Fruit Tea is a really nice option if you like a more simple and refreshing citrus tea, it’s not too sweet or strong in terms of flavour. The yuzu pieces in the tea are pretty small which makes it super easy to drink.
All of the little snacks and desserts they offer are super tasty and good sizes. I personally enjoy the Matcha Roll Cake, which is super fluffy and moist but not overly sweet. The Crème Brûlée is also extremely good. The filling in the pastry is amazing and lightens the sweetness of the sugary top, making it much easier to eat. Overall just such a good balance of flavours.
I stop by this place anytime I’m in the area and would 100% recommend. The staff is all super...
Read moreI ordered the pistachio latte and was happy to see they offered either hot or cold. The drink was delicious without tasting artificial. My friend ordered the blue rasp ade and it tasted like the blue slush puppies minus the brain freeze. We also tried the korean cinnamon pancake which was both savoury and sweet without feeling too heavy! The tteokbokki was also delicious but not as spicy as I usually liked but can see those who are trying it for the first time having a great introduction! Def will visit again and great spot for someone who wants to try new foods but with a sense of familiarity of a western cafe. Plus for checking em out and leaving a review i got a free mirror - now i can...
