I can't help saying again the Natas here are the best!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
My partner and I have been coming here for years for coffee and Natas. We've always enjoyed our visits, but I had not felt the need to contribute a review until now. We recently had the great good fortune to visit Portugal, home of pastel de nata. We tried Natas in several different cities and at many different pastelaria, including such highly rated places as Manteigaria. With that in mind, comparison is inevitable. Without question, the Natas at Doce Nata are at least as good as all we tried in Portugal and so much better than many. Also, having tried the Natas at a couple of other places in Hamilton, I would rate Doce Nata number one. We're working our way through other pastries and menu items along the way. The francesinha is great. This trip, my partner branched out with a Bola de Berlim, which was delicious. Although our visits are sporadic, we are warmly greeted each time. Edit Sept. 18. Downgraded from 5 to 3 stars. Few weeks ago had some croissants. Ate half of one and threw the other out. Not fresh. More like bread. Today had 2 breakfasts, eggs ordered over easy. 2 eggs done properly. 2 broken centre was hard. Also coffee today came cold. Not even luke warm. Actually room temp. First time in memory when I didn't leave a tip. Sorry but couldn't bring myself to do that.
On the positive side, the custard tarts (natas) were perfect. I will go back again to try other items and...
Read moreTook a spontaneous Saturday drive with my son and stumbled upon Doce Nata Pastry & Cafe—what a delightful surprise! From the moment we walked in, the aroma of fresh pastries and espresso set the tone. Every treat we sampled was absolutely delicious; I genuinely wanted to order one of everything on the menu.
We paired our sweets with a latte and an espresso—both perfectly crafted and a wonderful complement to the pastries. The café is tucked into the corner of the plaza, and the seating area was quiet and peaceful, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing morning treat or an indulgent afternoon escape.
Highly recommend for anyone craving a cozy atmosphere and top-tier Portuguese pastries. Will...
