Hamilton Hakka & Momo House — Restaurant in Hamilton

Ordered for the first time due to the rating and reviews. Made an online order, paid for it and waited to get a confirmation back. After 15 minutes I decided to go pick up my order assuming it would be ready. My wife called twice before I left and no one answered the phone, so again I assumed they were busy. Got to the restaurant and the place was empty. The girl came from the back and I told her I was there for my order. She looked confused and then went to the machine where the online orders came in and there it was. She proceeded to tell me it would be twenty minutes. It had already been at least thirty minutes since I ordered. I told her I'd already been waiting a long time and asked for my money back. She replied that she couldn't give me a refund as I had already paid on the app. I had no choice but to wait. It took about another twenty five minutes to get it. There was no apology, not an offer of a soft drink while I was waiting. The order was finally ready, she brought it out to me with again no apology, didn't take my name so next time maybe have something on us. I never write reviews but really felt the need to let them know how I felt. Customer service was horrible. Got home and opened our order, the rice container was lying on its side and half of it spilled out into the bag. Guess they were in a hurry to make the order. I visited casa blanca today and thought of trying this restaurant while returning. Ambience is 4/5. Service is 5/5 even though there was only one employee she did fantastic job in attending and serving and making sure we are good.

The kitchen staff were quick too with our orders.

We ordered, dragon chicken (the employee recommended this one), chicken 65, chicken and shrimp szechwan fried rice, Delhi malai MOMO, spring roll, veg Manchurian and veg fried rice, mango lassi and a veg spring rolls.

Over all the food was 3 out of 5 the taste was nice but some of the food were bland for eg the chicken and shrimp Szechuan fried rice, the dragon chicken was giving me sweet after taste which was kind of bothersome because I am not a fan of that kinda taste, my friend didn’t like the momo that much as it was bit gingery.

Best thing was the quantity it was overwhelming. I really liked their veg fried rice, chicken 65 (it did lack bit spice but still was good) and veg Manchurian could be better.

The veg spring roll needs some changes man they were tiny for no reason.

We just ordered from here last night - take out. We were looking for something different and are SO happy that we stumbled upon this restaurant! I looked through the on line menu and had about 6 things that we were going to try - just based on what we read. Have had no experience with some of the terms- we do like Chinese, Indian and Thai - so assumed we could not go wrong. When I called to place the order, the gentleman that answered was extremely friendly and helpful. He offered up suggestions when I said I would be happy for his opinions. He identified what was popular, what would be a good complement for sweet vs spicy and even saved me money by going with one less dish. I appreciated the advice and ethics of not pushing me to buy more! The food was FANTASTIC! And great ratio of portion size to money spent. We will 100% be back and will continue to try new items while building up our base of our new "go-to dishes". Thanks for giving us a new place for Friday...
