Best bread ever. I'm not kidding. Out of all the bread I've tried in the world their circular shaped bread, which can be found at the back of the store with the other bread, is perfection. It has a chew to it unlike most breads and is a bit charred in spots which make it extra heavenly. I'm not even a huge bread fan but I can eat one of these like it's nothing. I first sampled this bread at Scout Cafe where they serve this exact bread in Serbian style hamburgers and such. Scout Cafe is also worth a visit if you're looking for delicious Serbian food like cevapi, goulash and plijeskavica. Back to Golden Grain, I also LOVE their meat burek (which is kind of like spanakopita.) The cheese one is good too but I personally prefer the meat one as it's more tasty and addicting. Lastly, make sure to try the crempita; a lovely flaky custard desert that isn't too sweet but to die for. My only complaint is that they need more locations. Not just the best Serbian bakery but the best bakery period. Make sure to try the bread but remember to leave...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I first came to Canada, I was nervous about all the new types of foods here. I had never heard of most of the restaurants here and it was a difficult process to adjust myself. Luckily, one day a good Samaritan recommended Golden Grain and for the first time since I left my country, I felt like I belonged somewhere.
The freshly made bureks will have you spouting anti-Greece speeches to the locals like a true Macedonian fanatic. The owner's son, Lil Nenoosh, shows a display of unprecedented skill when it comes to servicing you. He services you in a matter that is as graceful as it is efficient. Legends has it, he has yet to suffer a single wound on the meat cutter contraption. It takes a real man of mettle to carry around such a reputation like that.
I highly recommend this place to anyone of all ages that's still struggling to find their place in this mysterious land we call Canada. Stoney Creek hasn't been the same since they moved into their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in today and ordered two bureks. One meat and one cheese. I also bought a few things and my total came to $69 dollars. I was charged $13.41 twice for taxes apparently. I asked the owner who was helping me to clarify why she charged me taxes multiple times. The owner proceeds to yell and scream at me so I offer to return the items since she is being belligerent. She takes everything out and goes one by one. Then continues to shout how I donāt know what I am talking about then when I am not agreeing she tries to ask other costumers to look at my receipt. I told her to stop this and then she takes all my items out of the bag and crushes my bread underneath her elbow. I waited an hour to get my order after she yelled and then left. I will never come back after this bullying. I recommend to go anywhere...
