Terrible, the place has changed since we went there last during the pandemic. We walk in and 3 employees are talking loudly in the dining area (delivery drivers I assume but it still gave off a bad atmosphere), the guy at the counter says we can eat in but the gives us one take out menu for a party of two. The table didn't look clean at all, I guess they don't really do dine in service anymore. The food was delivered in take out containers, Cantonese chow mein was still swimming in sauce with the noodles on the outside not even cooked (I have never had them leave extra sauce in so you let your noodles sit in it while you eat ever). The guy gave us two plastic forks which couldn't hold the weight of the vegetables and trying to pull noodles out under a lump of food with a plastic fork doesn't work. Took forever to eat due to that and then when we asked for a lid for the containers that were unfished he came to the table to check if we even needed it. Won't ever go back there again. The food was fine overall aside from that but nothing special, it just seemed like the owner or whoever worked that day didn't give a damn. Very disappointed with Empress Wok. I used to order at least once a month until July and haven't until today. The food quality has dropped dramatically!!! And the prices have gone way up! I typically ordered 2 main dishes, the empress platter (which has now gone up in price by $14) and a side of steamed rice. For example the Empress Wok Platter ordered in July 2024 cost $23.49 and now in November 2024 cost $37.49!!!! Where did the extra $14 come from ??? Price gouging. The curry chicken and the black pepper beef are now made with lower quality ingredients and jammed with large veggies to fill the space in the dish. Even going as far as putting cabbage in the curry to disguise it as chicken.

Shameful decline from this place. It WAS Amonthly treat for us but I will happily give my $70 to any other restaurant.
