Great quick-bite option at University Plaza! This newly opened spot in University Plaza is perfect for a casual lunch or takeout. It's quite small, with seating for about 10-12 people, but offers a clean and hygienic environment with convenient washrooms. The menu features familiar favorites similar to what you might find at a Thai Express food court locations. The food itself is decent and dependable, with portion sizes that are average for the price point (around $15 per dish). In our case, three non-vegetarian dishes, with noodles, fried rice and steam rice came out to $53 with tax. While the taste and quantity might not be mind-blowing, it's a solid option for those times you crave familiar flavors without the risk of trying an unknown place. Plus, the convenience of free public parking in the plaza makes it a breeze! Overall, I recommend this place for a quick and satisfying bite. It's a reliable choice when you're in the University Plaza area.

I ordered the shrimp tofu with extra beef and it wasn’t as flavorful as I expected, asides the spice level which they got right, it was seriously lacking in taste. I usually order pad Thai from the Thai express at Limeridge mall and theirs tastes way better than this. They also didn’t include peanuts(which gives a nice crunch to the meal) or extra soy sauce in my meal and I never asked that those be excluded. Most of the egg bits were also burnt, not very nice if you ask me!

We had a great experience at Thai Express! The food was delicious, and our two girls absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We were super happy with the taste and quality. Definitely a great spot for a quick and tasty meal. We’ll be coming back!

First time visit on June 11, 2024 @ about 14:56pm. First order I asked for 1 (single) vegetable spring roll (on the menu at about $5.50). I was charged $14.13 (see order # 2592). I asked the lady at the counter why it was much because the price said $5.50. Her answer was that they were our of vegetable and she gave me Imperial. I noted to her that I was vegetarian and she assured me imperial rolls were vegetarian. While waiting, I noticed that the board said 1 imperial roll was $2.50 ! I asked again why was I charged $14.13? She appeared confused, and said I wanted 5? No, I only wanted 1. She proceeded to correct the bill asking if I could pay for the new order (see order # 2594) in cash, and she would reimburse me $14.13 cash for the first one. The total of the 2nd order was $2.83, I handed her $3. She gives me the $14.13 back in cash, and seems confused when I said she still owed me change from the $3. She had to ask me how much change she owed me? She handed me back an additional $0.15. She proceeded to take the next person's order and I waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. I watched the 3 cooks preparing the next persons order. They talked a few moments about me, pointed at me standing waiting, and kept cooking the next order. And I waited some more. How long does it take to cook a single spring roll??? I waited for about 15 min.

As I was on my lunch break, I left. I waisted my break time, spent $2.83 cents and got nothing.

Thai "Express"? I don't think so....more like Thai Disaster. I will never go back. If I could give zero...

We thought we would try it out. One of the dishes had very old vegetables and was cold. The lettuce was visibly rusty with some parts even slightly blackened. The broccoli was partially rotten on some parts and the bean sprouts have seen better days. I would say that you would fair better when ordering dishes with as little 'fresh vegetables' as you can and aim for more fried things. It was definitely not worth the price. I was surprised they would even have produce this old despite how new they are in this location. Its definitely not a good sign moving forward and tells me they don't take food safety seriously.

Another dish ordered had less dubious ingredients, but was a very mild portion with little flavour. At best, this seems like the type of place you would order take out once or twice then move on, at worse you might get food poisoning. I cannot even say they offer anything unique, its all very generic stuff. I do appreciate the somewhat flexible nature of their menu and diet options, but I feel like that is becoming more and more of a bare minimum.

I would rather eat a microwave diner...
