Mel's Deli — Restaurant in Hamilton

Big collective arts fan, even more exciting that you can enjoy your beer with food !! Mel’s deli is delicious and worth it, hoagies subs are so big that we saved our second half and ate it later on at home. We ate the mortadella, the Italian and we split the turkey club! Price ranges from $17-20 and each sub comes with a side of kettle chips. We asked staff and they cook the kettle chips in house at their kitchen. You're definitely getting 2 meals for the price of one… they also have a small bodega fridge with an assortment of olives, cucumber salad, coleslaw and pasta salad. We will try that out next time ! A co-worker and I had sandwiches from here today (8/8/25), after a recommendation from another that had it last week. I had the Italian Trio. They had the mortadella. I wouldn't say the worst sandwich I have ever had, but not far from it. Think... bologna sandwich with no mustard on it and in your lunch pail all morning in grade school. A sandwich has to start with a good bun or bread. It was a disappointment immediately. Corner store, near expiry buns. Soaked and soggy from the oil (eaten about 5-10 minutes after getting it). My trio had cooked ham and spicy salami. That was it for meat and nowhere near what a $17, sandwich should have been. The best part of this sandwich was wrapping it back up and throwing it in the trash.

Discovered Mel’s Deli through Instagram and I couldn’t wait to go… and it did NOT disappoint. I went 3 times in 2 days to try 4 different sandwiches. THEY WERE ALL INCREDIBLE. They use good quality ingredients and you can tell. Would highly recommend the Italian trio for a cold sandwhich, and the spicy meatball for a hot one. But whatever you get, you’ll love!!
