This is the best sub shop in Ontario.
I take issue with a lot of the reviews of this place. "It's a hidden gem!" - No, everyone goes here and for a good reason "3/5 stars, best Portguese tarts in this country but not as good as Portugal" - You did Bonanza dirty and should be ashamed. "I showed up at 11:59am and there were 6 firefighters ahead of me!" - Yes, everyone loves Bonanza and you showed up at lunch. This is like showing up at your favourite concert 2 minutes before show time and complaining you couldn't get good seats.
Bonanza is a small bakery surrounded by houses that has been feeding people good lunches since before most of us were born. Have the prices increased? Yes, it's no longer $1.75 for a spamwich and a pack of menthol lights. Is there a line sometimes? Yes, other people like good food. You are part of the problem. Is there hot food, certain baked goods, or other things than subs? Sometimes yeah.
This place knows what they're good at and sticks to it. It's the best sub in a city of great subs. The staff are great, the whole process is as efficient as it can be. And if they expanded or changed anything we'd all complain.
Do you order this for dinner? YOU CAN, but it's a lunch time staple. Do you take someone for a date here? NO. Take it and go, it keeps so well. Buy more and eat them tomorrow. Any question not pertaining to subs? GO ELSEWHERE.
This is a near perfect sub shop.I don't know why other people try opening sub shops in this city when Bonanza exists. I don't even need to talk about the food, it's a sub sandwich and they do it the best.

Read moreNot even close to earning a star but had to rate it at least one to leave a review. Have always heard great things about this bakery unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. First of all it’s almost impossible to find the entrance as there’s no signage as such. Once inside it’s very dark and dingy and is not inviting whatsoever. About the food…… although it looked promising the first bite was definitely disappointing. The chicken in the chicken parm was severely overcooked very tough and tasteless. Not worth the $12 price tag at all. Also ordered Turkey BLT subs that had only 3 small pieces of deli turkey meat and were overloaded with rubbery overcooked bacon. I will say that the veggies in the sub were fresh and tasty however. As far as the baked goods the Portuguese tarts were alright but the brownies were hard as a rock and the cherry cheesecake seemed sour and past it’s expiry. All in all an extremely disappointing experience that cost me over $70 unfortunately....
Read moreI am editing my review no longer the cheapest sandwich and best. It's actually cheaper to go to Subway. You get more for your buck. It's unfortunate because I used to love this place. But for a bonanza mix to go from4.95 to$$$8.95 that's too much of a jump for me for what I get. There was half the meat and half the toppings and very little sauces. I literally had to spit out my first two bites, because they were so dry, I couldn't chew and swallow. The meat had a bit of odor. I should've figured something was up when there was no lineup. In the past, there was always a lineup. There was nobody and this was lunch hour, so I have no idea what happened to this company. I feel bad for the workers because they are very nice, but they're probably they're probably about to...
