this place is pretty good and nostalgic (especially because my dad used to come here when he was still alive)
the only issue is, sometimes i got a gyro here and the pita was dry with the gyro meat tasting off (i swear they tasted better when i was a kid)
another issue i had was when i came in here yesterday, i was trying to get the owners attention and he said can you stop (in a childish manner of course) then after that he mentioned that he had hearing problems and that he would kick me out if i complained one more time (he could have explained that he had hearing problems before he complained)
and it sucks because my dad used to come here all the time when i was a kid (2002-2015) (senior kindergarden-grade 12)
they even used to have sub days when i was in elementary school (because subway didn't exist in a mile radius yet in the 2000s)
and it also sucks because this is the only place to get a new york style deli gyro or sub thats not made by jihadists
this place is still good though and its one of those places that just doesn't exist anymore "where everybody knows your name" "and they're always...
Read moreWow, what a poor way to treat a customer that has been coming to that location for years, All because I like fresh buns & not dark buns, you had no right to talk to me or treat me the way you did, I had made a comment to my husband , that was between me & my husband apparently you made it your business to comment on my business, why would you go through the trouble of making my sub then throw it across a counter & tell me I can take my business somewhere else, considering I never spoke to you until you asked me what I want, then was gonna order another sub, when all of a sudden you thought it was appropriate to start talking down to me, telling me I have no right to ask for anything & that your employees were not gonna be subject to this anymore & im not allowed in that location again, as I was leaving the business, a man came in & Thanks I heard you telling him that I was bitching about the buns, which is a lie, I just stood there shocked considering nothing had been said to you directly & glad you have lots of customers & don’t need my business, I like doing business with people that don’t treat...
Read moreNever in my life have I had this experience at a sub place before. I ordered a veggie sub and the guy wasn't wearing gloves (a little queasy at the thought, but okay) but then he reaches into the container of olives with his bare hands, uses his fingers to strain the olive juices out, and then puts olives on my sub. He flicks olive juice off his hands into the air and then does the exact same thing with the hot peppers. I observed him and the other employee not wearing gloves and handling the cash register, debit machine, money, microwave, basically everything and then using bare hands to make the sub, including reaching into containers of liquid. I asked him if they never wear gloves and he seemed to think this was a weird question and replied; "No?? We wash our hands." Meanwhile, they're touching everything, barely rinsing their hands, and there is so much cross contamination. Even if someone is vegetarian or whatever, you're now contaminating the olives with meat juice fingers. Would it kill to at least have some...
