Have had takeout from this location 3 times. The food quality and service has varied greatly. 2/3 times the food was truly outstanding, well seasoned and flavourful. The last time, the paneer curry they gave us was a few chunks of paneer swimming in a sea of sauce, and it was ready almost half an hour after the specified pickup time.
The first time I got food from this restaurant, I placed a takeout order for a few appetizers (for ~$50). After coming to pick it up, I was given a large bag with what looked like several curries and naan and told my bill was $100. I explained that this wasn’t my order, and was told by the server that she remembered talking to me on the phone, that my name was Shivali, and that I was given the correct order. She didn’t believe me when I said my name was Sonja. Thankfully the manager stepped in and I was given the food I actually ordered after some time (and charged appropriately).
So far, the tandoori momos and samosa chaat have been consistently good. This is a welcome addition to a neighbourhood that is a bit of a restaurant desert and I will likely continue to order from them despite the somewhat chaotic service.
I find it peculiar that a restaurant that has only been in operation for a couple of months already has...
Read moreI ordered food through Uber Eats from here. I never had a problem with Uber's deliver people before. But when I got my order fries were missing. Now I don't know if the delivery guy ate them or if they got lost in car or if it's fault of restaurant. But that's not why I am writing this review. THE FOOD WAS AMAZINGLY GOOD! I ordered Samosas and some kinda fries that was popular but never had them before and Goat Curry. I order out when I have been doing chores and can't even stand up to cook after that. I am on disability so I can't even really afford to order but I took a risk. It was my first time ordering from Punjabi Shaan. I grew up cooking this kinda food and ordered from enough places to say this. It was wonderfully flavored and nice and hit and spicey like I love it! Very authentic food. Curry was quite hot but of course I love it. So despite the mess up by whoever when I called restaurant about it they were kind enough to offer replacement btu I was too tired to even go get it so I said thank you but it's ok you jsut needed to know that. So great food and great customer service. I will for sure order from this place again! I have never had samosas that authentic....
Read moreMy family ordered from here for the first time recently and the food was out of this world. My wife and mom had the butter chicken and I had the chicken vindaloo. We order from a lot of different Indian places and by far the vindaloo was the spiciest! Which is great, only problem was (especially with the vindaloo) there was not enough naan despite ordering three orders. The three orders of naan included one piece in two of the orders and two in the third order. I personally sucked it up and ate it with my one piece of naan but my mother wasn’t going to settle for that and decided to go to the store and buy naan so she can eat it for breakfast the next morning. Many places serve the butter chicken and vindaloo over rice and also include naan. Maybe we didn’t order that by mistake, but then again some places don’t serve it over rice so I don’t know. So to summarize this place is a hidden gem simply order triple the naan that you think you need. Also they need to work on their consistency when it comes to the naan...
