I am visiting from out of town and my friend suggested we go here for brunch as it had just recently opened. We were seated right away, when the waitress came over she didn't seem to friendly or eager to serve us. However we let this slide. My friend ordered the express breakfast and I ordered the stack with a side of bacon, I told the server I didn't want any whip cream. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was whip cream on the pancakes. So i scooped off the whip cream and put it on a side plate.Once again I let this slide, small mistake no big deal. My hash browns and eggs were cold and there was very little eggs, it looked like the end of a previous batch from a buffet. My friend also had a very small portion of eggs and hers were luke warm. However the pancakes and bacon were warm and good. Our waitress walked by at least 5 different time over the next 20 so minutes and never asked us how our food was. We were sitting next to the host booth and had to ask for extra napkins and water, she threw the napkins on the table and ran off. No water. We had to ask another server to get us some water, and this is the first time we were asked how our food was. After 20 plus minutes of having it, which then I told him my eggs were cold and I had barely touched them. The server then came back and said your eggs were cold? I said yes and she responds with "really?" I said "yes and so were my hashbrowns" and she walked over to the next booth before yelling back at us "sorry" not even looking at us. At this point we just wanted the bill, my meal was removed from the bill. However upon receiving the bill the waitress goes " how was everything? Besides the food, I mean the service ?" At this point she seemed aggressive towards us, which was not what we expected. We just said good yep as it caught us very off guard. You never came back to check on how our food was, didn't bring us water, and ran off every time ? I think you should know how the service was. The male server saw this happen and saw the shocked look on our faces and goes " she just worries". At this point we just wanted to leave and were very uncomfortable. My friend being from here does not plan on returning and the experience was down right shocking. If I could rate this zero...
Read moreStacked, used to be, a regular establishment that I visited. Lately, pricing has gone up, consistency and quality has gone down. Being a breakfast spot, you'd expect when you request medium hard eggs to be cooked to get medium hard boiled eggs, not one runny, one rock hard. I suppose its too difficult of a task to cook an egg at a set temperature for a set time for a professional.
But I digress. What was far more egregious was in my meal. There was a hair embedded in my burger. A long dark, disgusting strand of hair. Now that is completely unacceptable.
Now, mistakes happen and how you handle it can redeem you. Unfortunately for stacked their service is about as bad as the "quality" standard that this restaurant holds themselves to. I put it in quotes because they lack any of it.
The service component was somehow worse. I called the server over, showed her the hair embedded burger, told her I'm not paying for it and she took it to the chef for some reason. Perhaps they don't have any trust in eachother, for good reason it seems. She came back said sorry and asked if I wanted anything else (yes, I want more food cooked by the hair man after literally spitting out what was in my mouth when I bit into it), I asked for the bill to wit they still charged us for the poorly cooked, also half eaten since finding a hair in someones burger grosses you out, eggs.
I left no tip, explained to the server why and received a snarky response.
If you love poorly cooked food riddled with the DNA of the people who made it you'll love this place. If you have a shred of self-respect, you should go literally...
Read moreWe have given this place 3 tries now, and have had a mixed experience each time.
At our first two visits, the food was great, but the service was mediocre. It took a long time for someone to take our drink orders, even though there were a lot of servers around. The food arrived quickly, especially considering how busy it was, and was hot and yummy. We ordered a variety of meals from the breakfast menu and from the kid's menu and all were good, making us look past the inattentive service.
On today's visit, it took almost 10 minutes before the owner noticed that no one had taken our drink order yet (a pretty amazing feat considering we were seated in the booth right in front of the hostess desk. We were brought the wrong drinks and eventually placed our order (chocolate chip pancakes, the hot hamburger and the kid's chicken fingers). We waited a very long time for our order, with no check-in from our waitress. The people behind us waited even longer and only had breakfast food - we would not have waited as long as they did for eggs! The chicken was hot, the hot hamburger was warm and my pancakes were cold. It took 5 minutes to wrangle a server to have them sent back (they did return hot). We waited AGES for the bill to come, even though there was a wait at the door and our server had totally cleared our table. At this point we had been seated for nearing 1.15 hours (fortunately our toddler behaves herself in public). I'm not sure how often we'll be back after...
