Tony's Corner — Restaurant in Hamilton

I have never walked into an eatery only to be insulted by the staff here. As a student who attends the local Brock University campus, I inquired about a student special that was posted on the door when I walked in. The older gentleman gave me a stern look and said "you don't get a discount, it's only for students" I explained to the man that I was indeed a university student and even had my student card to prove it. The man again looking angry said " you have a car, you make money. I am not giving you any kind of specials if you want anything then pay full price." I wasn't aware that university students who attend classes full time and pay over $8000 a year were considered rich. The staff here have no knowledge of any customer service and as someone who is going to be working in a field where respect and professionalism are key, I refuse to come here again. Good luck to you Tony. I would spalsp have to say that I shared my experiences with quite a lot of people at the University campus nearby and none of us will be coming to your place. Hopefully they can hire nicer, more professional people to work here instead of disrespectful old men who think that inquiring about a valid discount means they are out...

Decent fast food, but poor management. My family has ordered several times through skip, but I decided to go into order this evening to better support a localbusinessthat we enjoy. The 2 girls working were wonderful and attentive, but they were not wearing masks which I found strange as masks are mandatory as the sign in their window indicates. I ordered for two and paid for my order, but while they were making it the owner asked one of the girls what I ordered and then demanded to see the receipt. He then said something to one of the girls that seemed to upset her, but I'm not certain what it was. I am assuming she rang the order wrong, but I couldn't hear exactly what she said. He then proceeded to get a head of lettuce and a large knife to chop beside her, the girl seemed very uneasy and upset. She went from very customer service oriented to not being able to make eye contact with me. I felt very uncomfortable with the entire exchange like I did something wrong/got the girl in trouble for a small mistake on her part. I will not return or recommend moving forward. Good customer service is hard to come by, hopefully those girls find employment with better...

What happened to Tony's? I used to live in the Parkdale area and used to be a regular customer here. The food was so legit and they made one of my favourite Greek salads and gyros in the city. I moved from Hamilton and moved back a few weeks ago, and was so pumped to have Tony's corner within walking distance. Ordered a gyro on a pita with a small Greek salad. Unfortunately my first experience back wasn't a very good one. With no olives on my salad it had a very strong olive taste, it tasted like they soaked the feta in olive juice or something, I couldn't taste the dressing or the onions, very big let down. Also the meat on the gyro was lacking and Luke warm and the pita was freezing cold, I'm used to Tony's throwing the pita on the flat top and it being piping hot. Might give Tony's another shot but I hope they step up their...
