I as there today around 1pm for lunch. A few years back I dropped in with my mother and we had a wonderful lunch, but I see things have changed. My friend and I had the buffet which was highly recommended by the server. It was horrible, everything looked so good, but the food was so cold we could barely eat it. The only things that were warm was the bacon and sausage. Needless to say we didnt eat much. When the server came by to ask how everything was I told her it probably tasted good when hot, but it was all cold, really cold. We were told she would look into it, but we never saw her again until it was time to pay the bill. Turns out there were kids there and they were playing around the food table and they turned the heat off so everything got cold. We were told this while the servers laughed about it. We were not offered a discount or a coupon for a future visit, just a laugh and the full bill. We do the trip between Peterborough and Ottawa quite often as we volunteer for a group of dog rescues, so we need to stop for lunch and or breakfast on a regular basis. I guarantee this will not be one of our stops along the way. I could never recommend this restaurant again. A brunch that we barely ate, and did not enjoy what we did eat, cost us over $13.00... Sorry this is not acceptable. Save your money and drive on to...

The burger was spreadable. Like tartare. It was completely inedible. I wish I had said something at the time, but at first I only thought it was a terrible veggie burger, and certainly not "beyond meat" brand as advertised. Only later did I realize that it may have been a beyond burger after all, just completely un-cooked!
Also shared a greek salad with a friend, which was about 90% feta cheese with some enormous chunks of mushy tomato. Overall super unpleasant food for myself, but the meat-eaters at our table had no complaints. If you're an omnivore you might be fine here.
Service was really slow bringing out requested items that were missing from our meal (dips and sauces). COVID-wise, I felt slightly uncomfortable as my chair on the patio was back-to-back with the diners at the table behind us, just a few feet away (definitely not 6 ft). Our server also lifted her mask from her face while speaking to us which was...questionable.
Unfortunately I won't be...
Read moreFirst time at Station Restaurant. Definitely very happy with our experience. We saw the Montreal smoked meat sandwich sign outside and decided to try them out. We started with the Spinach dip which was incredibly well done. Plenty of dip and lots of pita triangles and one of the best spinach dips I've had. We both ordered the smoked meat fries and coleslaw. I ordered the Station sized sandwich and it was 16 ounces of tasty smoked meat on toasty rye. The sandwich is huge, ate half and brought the other half home. Service was very friendly and efficient. Our server was a lovely lady ( wish I caught her name ) and provided us not only with great service but made us feel right at home and gave us a couple laughs. The restaurant is in an historic train station and it keeps the original look and feel of a station. We went on a Friday evening around 7pm and were able to get seated but the restaurant was continually busy and people getting take were in regularly. Obviously this restaurant is very popular with the local community and the locals know the best...
