Miss Hawkesbury — Restaurant in Hawkesbury

Their pizza is excellent and travelled well for 25 minutes to home. It reminds me of my very fave pizza restaurant in Ottawa.

This time I had a burger and poutine. What a disappointment!

The burger was ok, the only thing that could make it better was real cheese instead of an edible oil product. It's been a restaurant trend for a couple of years now; that real cheese is used in burgers and grilled cheese. It was still tasty though as the meat was really good.

The poutine left me stunned and sad. A restaurant that uses grated cheese on their french fries with gravy, makes nothing but French Fry soup. It was not enjoyable at all. And not poutine imo.

Will I go back? Maybe for pizza; and I still haven't explored their gigantic menu. Everything my partner had was completely acceptable. It's not unusual that diners have psuedo Asian dishes on the menu, and like so many, the Miss Hawkesbury turns out pretty good on that end of the menu too.

All in all, I would happily go back, but will be avoiding the sad 🥔...

New to the area, I ordered delivery from Uber Eats to try their food as recommended.

The prices were insanely expensive, especially the delivery fee for a local restaurant. But the food really was what the main thing was. I wasn't in the restaurant so there's no need to review atmosphere and service. The onion rings were delicious, I actually prefer them over A&W which WERE my favourite. The poutine on the other hand wasn't as good. The cheese was very thick and chunky, I couldn't even finish it. I don't think there was even any gravy at all in terms of taste. Burger was alright, but not worth the price.

For 2 of us it was $80...

Feb 2025 Edit: Eating at the restaurant in person over take out is a completely different experience. I came here in January of 2025 and the service was amazing, haddock fish was phenomenal. The special was extremely reasonably priced. $25 for 2 decent size pieces of fish, fries, soup, salad and a desert.

I don't know where to start.. Miss Hawkesbury always has had good pizza for decades, But since they change owners fries are disgusting their gravy to make the poutine not good at all. Same with pizza everything changed, the greek brothers that founded this place they knew how to do business and be consistent in the food being served, the customer service was great used to be great. Doesn't meet my standards!! If you want a good pizza go in Cornwall at North End pizza, these greek brothers knows how to make good pizza the place is squeek and clean, their pizza,poutine,lasagna,chicken fingers subs The best!!!
