This is literally the first food review I have ever written and I only do so because I am so appalled by the service that I have received from this restaurant. I also found this place through here so maybe I can deter someone else who might decide to spend money on this place

Straight to the point, I ordered curry chicken because I'm new to Edmonton and I don't have a car I asked for delivery.

She told me the driver will be in at 4, I'm already starving at this point but I wait. I keep calling back and the driver ends up there at around 5. I make my order then I'm told I have to pay for delivery 5 bucks.. When the driver arrives almost an hour and a half later I'm told that there's an additional 5 dollars because my order was too low. They could have said something before, I don't make a big deal and pay my tip.

I look at the contents, no rice, I specifically asked if the meals come with rice and the lady said yes. Now, not only are they a rip off company that nickels and dimes you but they're also rude. I called back and the lady said that if I didn't like it I could drive back and get a refund, she knew fully that I had no car since I told her earlier.

Defeated.. I get started on my food and this was the last straw.. The curry was so watered down it might have been a soup.

Not only are they a rip off and rude business but their food is badly cooked.

Save yourself the trouble and...

I learned from Google Maps reviews that this place is family run, and many people praised that their service was excellent.

We ordered Singapore Noodles, which are Singapore style stir-fried rice vermicelli that included shrimp, BBQ pork (char siu), eggs, onions, bean sprouts and bell peppers. The noodles were well fried with curry, and the taste was not too strong or greasy.

We also had Crispy Ginger Chicken, which had a crunchy batter and tender meat. The sauce was made with soy sauce, rice vinegar, rice wine, sugar, ginger and more, giving it a sweet and sour flavor. There was also a hint of ginger's spiciness, along with onions and bell peppers, making it very appetizing.

They gave us two fortune cookies after the meal, which are typically found in Western Chinese cuisine. I appreciate it because I love the encouraging phrases inside. It always brings a bit of sweetness to life.

Finally, there were many parking lots. The space inside felt quite small, but the atmosphere for dining in was comfortable. The portions were a bit smaller than at other restaurants, but the service was definitely excellent...

So, my girlfriend and I just ordered and picked up a Dinner for 2 from Chan Can Wok for the first time and we are both thoroughly disappointed...All of the containers of our food, other than the Chicken Fried Rice, was only 2/3 filled, enough for about half a meal rather than like 3-4 like other Chinese food restaurants. The dishes were 98% vegetables (many of which were too hard) and only 2% meat. I could literally fit the whole amount of meat from the Beef and Vegetables and Kung Po Chicken dishes on my 2 fingers...Also, of the little meat that there was, some of it was dry and almost always had a piece of gristle.

I give 1 star since the only things worth eating were the Spring Rolls and Sweet and Sour Pork, and I could tell the lady that handled our order was very nice. After reading many of the reviews, I see now it's a common theme that people that ordered takeout had the worst experiences and those who ate in gave high ratings.

I'm really not much of one to write reviews but as a couple that has ordered Chinese food many times, to have an experience like this really felt like a big...

I really liked this place. A couple of young guys were happy to greet me, friendly, and they handled my standoffish small talk quite well. I ordered: Dry Garlic Ribs - These came breaded, which are not my first choice for pork garlic ribs. But they remembered a lemon. Which makes all the difference. Ginger Beef - This was excellent. I normally avoid crispy ginger beef, but this was the "recommendation" as they sell around "700 kilos a week of it". He was right. A really good sauce with just the right amount of soft crunch. Stunning dish. Green Onion Cake - This is my favourite thing to test. In Edmonton, many of the green onion cakes come from delta foods. This one appears to have come from there as well. PERFECTLY FRIED. Chicken fried rice. Nothing special here, chicken fried rice with some Sunspun mixed veggie tossed in. You know, green peas and Carrot cubes. Overall the food was good, fresh, and clean. Everything was packaged properly, neatly. Recommend: Wok on Over and try the Ginger Beef.

Yum! 😋😋 Fast and super friendly service. We ordered a dinner for three and it was fantastic! Sorry I only have two pics but everyone had dug in before I could snap some! Spring rolls were crisp, the veggies were cooked perfect tender crisp, the chow mein and fried rice were perfectly done and the chicken balls had big pieces of chicken. I really appreciated how each dish had it's own flavour....like you know sometimes Chinese food can have all the same seasonings for every dish and be quite boring. Not here! It was our first order and definitely won't be our last. Thanks!!!
