Considering what it cost us per person $90.00 quite disappointing. Beet salad was delicious but 2 of us ordered grilled salmon and asked that one of the dishes be well done salmon. When it arrived at the table the server had no clue as to which one was well done plus the food was not hot. My friend returned hers because she likes her food hot. I kept mine even though it was Luke warm. Resulting in that I was finished my dinner before she even got hers returned to her hot. The waitress Coleen never came back once to ask how we were doing or if everything was ok.we wanted to order a second round of drinks but she was nowhere to be found so I finally called the owner Mundy over and asked her to get us our drinks. We waited forever for the second order. The bar tender was too busy making drinks for the people sitting at the bar!! One of us ordered the fish n chips but it was too big so she was bringing the rest home and asked if she could have a small container of tartar sauce to go. The waitress Coleen told her to use her knife and scrape whatever wax left into the take out box!!!! Who does that!!! It’s too bad. The restaurant could have potential but the owners don’t seem to know how to treat their customers. After our displeasure on several points at least offer us a coffee on the house but no such thing. Not even a goodnight thank you for coming on...
Read moreMy friend and I went to this restaurant to “splurge” on a good meal on a rare night out with our big kids. What a mistake! After waiting at least 15 minutes to order, we asked for 2 seafood rolls, 2 burgers and one fish n chips. Our waitress came back 5 minutes later to tell us they were out of seafood rolls. Super disappointing because we didn’t really want anything else from the very limited menu. We ended up ordering burgers too. What a mistake! The fries and the burger were SO salty it was awful (and I am usually a fan of salty!). Also the burgers were quite burnt. Between the extreme salt and burnt taste, none of us finished our meals (including the teen boys who are usually unstoppable!). The wait staff was also very slow in filling our water - and we were VERY thirsty from all the salt! We also ordered a starter of fried calamari ($20) and wondered why the order was so microscopic for that price. Very disappointing. The fish n chips was crispy but that is the only positive thing $200 later. In theory it seemed like a good idea at the time but in practice we will never be going back and absolutely do not recommend. Any fast food restaurant will make a better burger and fries than Embers. Save your money and go...
Read moreIn Hudson, a little further down the road of hustle and bustle, we stopped at Embers for lunch. We sat on the not so busy patio and ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries and the fish and chips. As drinks, water with lemon and Coke. Coke was served in a small decanter. The fish and chips were nicely cooked with just enough crispy batter. The tartar sauce to accompany it was very nice tasting and a delicious added touch. The beef sandwich was nice but could hardly taste the different toppings. Fries were cold with both dishes unfortunately and the food was not as hot as we would have liked. The patio has a lot of seating and took a stroll inside to visit the washroom. Washroom was very clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. The inside of the restaurant is quite lovely and must be amazing at night with all the lighting. I could see many a romantic dinner here - warming the heart embers of many. Overall, a good meal and I would give a second chance for hot food. If I had enough, I'm be almost tempted to try the Cowboy Cut Steak which seems would serve at least a couple of people. Parking is available next to...
