UPDATE - I wrote the below review when the restaurant first opened and gave it 3 stars. I drive by it all the time and think to myself, why did I give it such a high star rating and why do I always feel like I can't be 'mean' or give a low rating if I feel that way, so I changed it recently to a 1 star (but kept the content of my review the same). I did not get a response from the restaurant the first time, but got one when I edited the star rating (see below).
ORIGINAL REVIEW (when the restaurant first opened): Food was tasty but portions quite small. I can never usually finish an entire shawarma plate in one sitting but could have probably eaten 2 of these. Was left hungry. Price is the same as everywhere else so will probably not go back.
RESPONSE FROM OWNER (after changing my star rating recently, years later): Tiana, I would remove this review. You got it wrong my dear we do not use these take out containers. You’re probably associated with one of our competitors. It’s unfortunate that we do this to one another. Never once have I tried to tarnish a competitors business. Competition is good it keeps us on our toes, keep that in mind. That dish belongs to another establishment. Please remove this review otherwise I’ll be escalating this. Thank you
NEW RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Hopefully the above update confirms that this was indeed your restaurant. And while it seems as though you've since made improvements, I based my review and star rating my own experience. We had a pleasant conversation when we first visited and you seemed very open to feedback. Thus before ever reviewing your restaurant, I sent you an email, stating that the food was great but your portions were way too small. You said 'you've done your research' and that 'your portions were generous'. I replied with a suggestion to offer an upsize option where customers could pay a bit more to load up on rice, but you never responded, so I figured despite my genuine effort to share constructive feedback and want to see you succeed, you didn't give a F. I've never been back but know people who have who say the portions are inconsistent (and they go as far as walking out if they go in and see certain people behind the counter as they know they won't get enough food). I wouldn't know as I've never been back and have since found other shawarma spots...
Read moreI recently visited Mideast Grill and was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. This place is a hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic shawarma and Middle Eastern cuisine.
Ambiance: The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with tasteful decor that reflects the rich culture of the Middle East. The seating is comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is perfect for both casual meals and special gatherings.
Food: The food at Mideast Grill is simply outstanding. The shawarma is flavorful and perfectly cooked, with generous portions of tender, juicy meat. The combination of spices used is just right, creating a delicious and satisfying meal. I highly recommend trying their chicken shawarma it’s awesome.
The side dishes are equally impressive. The hummus is creamy and rich, the falafel is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the tabbouleh is fresh and vibrant. Each dish is made with high-quality ingredients and presented beautifully.
Service: The service is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They are more than willing to provide recommendations and accommodate any special requests. Even during busy times, the service is prompt and efficient.
Price: The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a full meal with friends, you'll find it to be a great value.

Read moreI am so happy these guys opened up here in Innisfil! I've had shawarma in Toronto, Scarborough, Mississauga and Richmond Hill, and for me, Mideast Grill's shawarma is by far the best I've ever had! I'm a repeat customer and already eaten there 4 times in the past 4-6 weeks.
Their chicken shawarma is nice and crispy on the edges yet also juicy and tender on the inside. Their beef shawarma is made with lamb fat giving it a nice rich taste. Their rice is much more flavourful than Osmow's, and their salad ingredients are all fresh. Having a platter makes me feel like I had a home-cooked, freshly-made meal. I also like that their food is consistent, it doesn't change in quality, freshness, or taste from one visit to another.
The family that owns and runs Mideast Grill are friendly and welcoming. Their service and hospitality contributes to the home-cooked meal feeling. If you ever went to the restaurant that used to be in this location, know that Mideast Grill is way better. Even the ambiance is bright and makes you want to eat at one of their tables.
I highly recommend you...
