Royal Pizza Blue Quill — Restaurant in Kaskitayo

I ordered pizza at 4:59pm today and it was scheduled for delivery between 9:30pm to 10pm. At 8:44pm I got call and the person said he doesnt have any drivers who is willing to deliver that far. My place was 15 mins drive from this location. I said I can come by cab and pick it up no problem but I will be paying way more money to cab becuase cab will cost me about $40 for a round trip. I asked for a discount. Guy said he will reach out to manager for a discount which he did and called me back said manager will give you 10% off which is $6. I said to him it doesnt even make any difference and I told him I will come there as soon as my cab comes. I reached at their location at 9:40pm to pick up my order. Guy I was talking to he was left by then but he told other guy that he cancelled the order so they never prepared one. I never said for cancelling my order. When I was having conversation with a guy in store he said it will take about 20 mins to prepare I said I can wait but I informed him that I never cancelled my order otherwise why would I be here to pick my pizza? Anyways I asked guy( himanshu) who was instore name of an employee I had communication with he said his name is Carlton. I asked if their calls are recorded he said no its not. When I was paying for my order Himansu did not apply 10% discount which manger Robin committed to give when Carlton called him for a discount before. When I asked why 10% did not apply himanshu said he can not give. I asked please contact your manager because carlton told me he will offer. Himanshu did not make efforts to contact manager neither Carlton to confirm: I experienced worst customer service from royal pizza at this location. Please order from other locations but I wont recommend...

Update: I was called to discuss my review. Generally was provided excuses for my concerns (employee confused, etc) and no apology whatsoever. I was only offered a free pizza voucher on my account that I have to use at this location (would not offer a gift card to use elsewhere). So I guess I'll be back one last time.

I have been going to the Strathcona Royal Pizza location since I was a child (25+ years). This is the first and last time I will order from this location (Blue Quill) I don't normally review places, but it was so disappointing.

I was forced to pay extra for a Caesar or Greek salad with the calzone because the no upcharge salad was not available (instead of them subbing it complimentary). When I picked up my order I had to ask for the salad because they didn't have it ready with my order. Had I not, I would have paid extra for something I didn't even receive.

I also asked why there was no marinara sauce with the calzone (I'm certain the Strathcona location always provides this without asking). I was told that it is not complimentary and it was up to me if I wanted to pay extra for it.

As for the food itself, the calzone was extremely underbaked. Parts of the dough inside were completely raw (smelled of yeast and was sticking to my fingers when I inspected it after biting into a piece of gooey dough). The meat next to the dough was barely warm and there was hardly any sauce. Our other pizza was okay.

Overall, extremely disappointing. Do yourself a BIG favor and go to the original Royal Pizza in Strathcona. I hope this location doesn't lose other Royal Pizza...

I ordered a pizza here and they screwed up the order - gave me the wrong pizza.

I had to call once home and go pick up the correct pizza. They were aware of the mistake, because when I called the guy on the phone admitted they realized the error once I left with the wrong pizza.

Here's where it gets weird. Guy on the phone tells me they will "credit me the pizza". What does this mean to you? I think, ok, they are going to give me a free pizza (at least the same value) for next time.

Nope.

When I order next time I am told there is a "$5 credit on my account". What? I ask about it and I am told that's my credit and the reason is they put mushrooms on by mistake and that's the value of the mushroom as a topping.

None of this makes sense - the pizza they gave me in error was totally wrong. What's with picking one (of several) incorrect toppings. What kind of arbitrary process is that?

When I told them it didn't make sense to me and I understood I was to get a free pizza, they said no and didn't care.

Needless to say, I won't be going back and I am totally turned off. There is something so cheap about all of this. I never asked for anything for free, it was offered, but once the offer is made and it is under the guise of "a credit" for the pizza, do the right thing and honour your word.
