As part of the beautiful Trent Severn Waterway, Coboconk is a busy summer hub and a main stop for cottagers as well as campers at Balsam Lake Provincial Park. At the centre of town is the 140 year old ā€˜Pattie House’ property. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere inside or on the back patio. Clean rest rooms. The smiling staff are local and very hospitable. I’m told the new owner is a trained chef himself with a long history of the restaurant sector and the cottage industry. They do have a wide assortment of grilled/bbq meat/veggie options and the coldest beer on the lake. Maple bacon wings are very popular among the regulars. And for all the arm chair food critics..Its inexpensive casual quick comfort food people, you’re not dining at the Harbour Sixty....it’s ā€œHarbour Cobyā€. Try to enjoy the country water-side dining moment. Drive or take a Picturesque boat ride around Balsam Lake, then head north to ā€œCobyā€. Boat dock next door. LCBO close by. Snowmobile groups always welcome in the winter. DJ and live music on weekends. You can’t beat this Ontario treasure anywhere. Take that... Muskoka.

The Pattie House has lost its amazing new management. I don't think it'll be able to live up to what it was like when Manu and Pooja were managing. Quite a loss to Coboconk. Review below from Feb 2023. Visited the Pattie House in Coboconk! What a local gem! It was great to see so many locals coming together to support the new management. Great atmosphere and vibe. Food portions were generous and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the pool table and darts. Would be great place to hang out to watch the game. Can't wait to visit the patio in the summer!

1st time coming here after wanting to for some time. We ate on the patio which was severely neglected and in need of some tlc. From what I understand it used to be quite the popular spot. The food saved the review from being worse. Everything we had was cooked well and was filling and tasty, especially the tall cans of bud light. As with most places it was short staffed so service was slow. I'd eat there again.

Saw this restaurant in town as we rented a cottage 3 mins away from this place. 9 of us wanted to eat out to enjoy a family dinner with each other and decided to go to this restaurant. Came into the store. Probably 5-6 tables full. Didn't seem busy at all. One younger lady say us and made our table for 9. Very friendly and professional. Even asked if we went to the beach today which we absolutely did. Was pleasant to see such a friendly mannered waitress. On the other hand the older lady who took our orders was very rude and unprofessional. Seemed like as soon as we walked through the door she wanted to turn off the open sign. We had a 16 month old baby with us so it is convenient for us to be inside. But she insisted for us to go outside which we chose not to. When taking our orders we had to repeatedly tell her what we wanted.

Food was not the greatest. Was ok for a small restaurant like this one. Waited for almost 50 mins for our food and based on the other reviews others have experienced the same thing. The restaurant had so many flies around the table it made it very uncomfortable to eat. When asked for water or extra napkins it took her almost 15 mins to get. Mind you, if the restaurant was busy I can understand but the restaurant was not even busy at all.

Overall our experience with this specific waitress was unpleasant. We left this restaurant as soon as we were done our food. Would not recommend this restaurant if...

So we’ve been to this place a few times over the years.. always seems to be a different menu and maybe different owners.

In any case, we were there this past weekend. Wasn’t busy - maybe 10 patrons in the place. Looked like there were about 4 people working the dining area.

The place needs a makeover and renovation. It’s very tired looking. No ā€œambianceā€. Layout is really odd. From what I recall it has a huge patio area, but from other posts, it seems that’s in need of repair as well. The whole place is just ā€œblahā€.

We were seated quickly, but then waited maybe 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Drinks came quickly, and we ordered food. The menu is pretty good. Lots of selection with a bunch of salads as well, for a change,.

It was about 45 minutes before the food showed up, which seemed really long based on the number of people in the place. Food was tasty. Decent portions. Service was friendly, etc, although sporadic with the attentiveness for a place that wasn’t that busy.

Washroom was kinda grungy.. and if that’s dirty, then I really don’t want to know what the kitchen looks like.

Anyway, I think the new owners could do more with that place. It’s almost like it’s too big - too...

Have only been here 3 times since the series of new owners have taken over. The owner that originally started the "Smoke'n BBQ" theme was great, food was good, and staff was friendly and welcoming.

However, since then this establishment has gone down hill, and after tonight we will never be back. On our last visit we waited 30+ minutes for our food. The waitress was terrible, unhappy, and inconvenienced by our presence. We recieved a decent ceasar salad, but mediocre poutine and inedible chicken fingers for my toddler son. They were so overcooked I couldn't even bite them. We threw nearly his entire meal out.

Tonight we thought we would give the Pattie House a second chance. Unfortunately we had the same waitress. She took our order within 15 minutes of sitting down. After 25 minutes of waiting with our toddler and a hungry elderly gentleman, my wife went to the bar and asked if we could at least have our drinks while we wait. The waitress then informed my wife that our order had never been put in. They wasted nearly an hour of our time.

We will never be back, and I highly recommend you look elsewhere for a decent...
