This is a cozy bakery-café that I visited for a short time before scurrying off to an appointment. I had the hot chocolate, chicken almond sandwich, and a honey cream bread thing that I don't know the name of. My companion ordered another sandwich. The hot chocolate was decent! Not bad, but not amazing either. The chicken almond sandwich, labelled their bestseller, was a chicken salad sandwich with toasted almonds in it, served with a small bit of chips, salad, and dressing. It was a basic sandwich that served exactly what it indicated, and the portion was great, so it's good in that sense. Everything tasted fine. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and found a dead fly IN the sandwich. I alerted the owner, Cat, and she said "it must've been the salad. We cannot guarantee everything will be 100% clean." She also initially refused to do a refund stating "we don't do refunds," but only issued me a refund at the sale price (not with tax) until I insisted.
I get things happen, but refusing a refund, AND not taking responsibility for clearly unsafe food handling? That's a very poor business practice. Attached are pictures.
