Freddy's Brewpub — Restaurant in Kelowna

I was completely abolished by the service i got by the highly unorganized unprofessional staff and so called management. Ive been going to McCurdy to bowl for years now and had even previously worked in the kitchen at Freddy's. I thought i would bring a friend to bowl and have a couple drinks but then my already not going very smooth night got worse thanks to the staff at Freddy's. There was NO waiter/waitress around so i made my way to the bar to order drinks myself from the bartender. I ordered without a problem and gave my lane number and went to my lane to wait. The waitress proceeded to come up and asked me if she could get any drinks for us and when i told her i just ordered from the bartender, she turned around and stormed off all mad. When she came back she asked me for ID and when i muttered "Oh gosh" to myself and reached for my ID, she then said "OK, I'm not serving you" and walked away. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but it was definitely uncalled for. I then went to talk to the bartender and ask what was going on and all he said was "I back the decisions of my waitresses" I usually enjoy the food here, but today the service was just beyond horrendous. Oh and to make things even more fun, they were giving us a hard time about a bottle of WATER we had with us. Seems like they just needed something to power trip on...

The food is generally mediocre, as are the atmosphere and service, but what actually has me bothering to review the restaurant is that I was refused tap water while being served this evening so that they could mislead patrons and try to peddle bottled water.

At the time of this writing, the pub, along with most of the city, is under a "Water Quality Advisory" which is basically to say that the turbidity of the water is higher than normal and that vulnerable groups (children, elderly, and immunocompromised) should boil water before drinking it. Interior Health guidelines for businesses serving water under such circumstances are as follows:

Food premises operators MUST advise clients and MAY WISH to provide alternate water.

After my server had advised me of the water quality advisory I explicitly stated that I wasn't concerned with the turbidity of the water and still wished to be served it as I'm in good health. She refused, insisting that the quality of the water prevented them from serving it which is a bald-faced lie.

Freddy's is third rate on the best of days, but management really needs to properly educate their servers on regulations during a water advisory or stop taking advantage of circumstances to "upsell" their patrons with dishonest interpretations of plain and simple regulations, whichever the...

This place is an absolute dumpster fire.

I went there very briefly to kill some time with my girlfriend. First thing I noticed was the table was sticky to the touch and not in a newly sanitized way but a sticky food and drinks way. Once we sat down we waited about 15 minutes for someone to even bring over menus and another 20 minutes to order once we got to the part where we could order we ordered couple drinks and the waitress informed me they didn't have the one I was looking for I then tried to order 3 different drinks off the menu each time being told they didn't have them until I resorted to just saying bring me something you do I have, I really don't care what it is our server then would not just choose any drink to bring me insisting that I choose something. I finally landed on something they did have in stock and after figuring out something that worked we then sat for another 20 minutes for them to bring us our drinks so we asked for the bill when they brought them as it had almost been an hour and we sat waiting another 15 minutes until I just went to the bar and asked to pay right then so I could leave.
