Despite the other ratings , I feel the food quality was nowhere near what I’ve seen in other Chinese style restaurants in metro Vancouver. I have yet to tour the Fraser valley eateries for Chinese food. We ordered.Deep prawns, beef and broccoli, lemon chicken, and vegetarian chow mein. Both the lemon chicken and the prawns were very heavily, battered, much heavier than one would expect from a Chinese style restaurant. Beef and broccoli was slightly dry. Portion sizes were a little bigger than expected, except for the chow main which was smaller than expected. We ordered for takeout, and the order was ready. Exactly on time.As stated in other reviews, the building is not much to look at, but that has nothing to do restaurant itself .

This is an old time Chinese joint which you've been waiting to find, of which are especially hard to find nowadays. For what I'm told, the majority of culinary here is manifested in the kitchen. Not brought in by truck from Sysco (imitation crap). Nothing is perfect in this world anymore. We had lost our ways. But this place is still somewhat keeping in pace of tradition of what Western Chinese food was ever meant to be. Quality and fresh.

A succulent chinese meal. Not quite The Capital but it's almost there. Ordered the 'Dinner for 3'. The Spring Rolls and Sweet & Sour Chicken are a bit average, but the Chicken Chow Mein, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and Beef Chop Suey are decent. There was more than enough food. Realistically, it'd probably feed 5. Overall it was definitely better than the other place in town.

Great Chinese restaurant. There are only two in Agassiz, and we believe this is the better one. And, the food and service is better than most of the other restaurants in Agassiz and the general area. Everything is freshly prepared, and the owner is quite nice.

  • Suggestion: Many people order takeout, especially dinner time, so plan ahead, or better yet, try to avoid dining in or ordering during peak lunch and dinner times. This is Chinese food, so like many Asian foods, it is salty. So, have some water. It's FREE at this restaurant!
  • Suggestion: If you want something different that many Chinese restaurants offer across Canada, order from "House Specialties" in the menu. They're all very good, and the "pot stickers" are like Chinse dumpling or dim sum; good as a starter or appetizer while you wait for the main dishes.
  • Suggestion: Under "Vegetarian" in the menu, choose the "Buddha Feast". It has a good variety, and is very delicious!
  • Suggestion: Under "Appetizers" in the menu, we choose "Lettuce Wrap (Chicken or Beef)". It's a wrap that you place your meat and minced vegetables on a fresh, large piece of lettuce and roll it. It's a little messy, but worth it and delicious!
  • Suggestion: Under "Fried Rice" in the menu, we love the "House Special Fried Rice (dry)". It is very delicious! Some people on a budget or travelling through quickly order a dish for the whole family to share a small meal. So, there you go. Dining in is nice as not crowded during off peak hours, and ordering take out is better experienced if you plan/call ahead or outside their peak hours. They're not open every day, and they're not open for lunch every day, so do your diligence and...

The service is horrible. The young lady was excellent with the take out orders but not good to the customers in the restaurant. Asking for something was difficult to get right away, it would take forever due to her telling us she’s busy with take-out orders. (Oh and one of the take out orders was for family) Sorry but we are customers inside your establishment and we get put on the back burner. My suggestion if you do want to eat here get it to go.(take out)

The food is ok, not the best Chinese’s food but edible.

If you have any left overs be sure to bring your own containers or go take a walk to dollar store to pick up some as they charge you $0.50 per container, yes I said that right, they charge you for to-go containers if you didn’t eat all the food.

You buy there food- spend over 70$ and you have to buy the containers if you want to bring your left overs home.

This alone makes me not want to ever go back to their establishment. Really, having to pay for the containers. Wow, that is a first!!!

Hope the owners read this and change their minds on charging customers for the containers, or they are going to loss more than $0.50 per container, they are going to...

'Just moved to Agassiz and my own kitchen is not up and running yet. So of course I explore my new local restaurants. Dragon Fried Rice House did not disappoint. I placed a take-out order by phone and was greeted by a friendly voice. My 'Dinner for 3' would be ready in only 25 minutes. Parking was a breeze with a lot adjacent to the restaurant. The building is modest but clean on the outside; the inside was a wee bit dated, but also clean and tidy. There are dining tables inside so I look forward to dining in one day too. When I got my order home I was impressed with the amount of food. This 'Dinner for 3' will have LOTS of leftovers, which was kinda the plan ;-) And the food was delicious! It is your typical 'North Americanized Chinese food,' which was exactly what I was looking for. They are not cheap with the add ins, lots of bbq pork in the rice, the spring rolls were large and the chicken balls were 100% breast meat as well as the chicken in the chow mein. Dragon Fried Rice House will be my go-to when I crave Chinese in my...
