I am very glad I could rate the brew house & the hotel separately (you'll find my raving review on that page), although I'm still torn on how to rate the brew house. On one hand, we LOVED the aesthetic of the bar. We had an amazing time trying the different beers and being entertained by the bartender Christie both nights we went downstairs for some drinks. One unfortunate thing however is how small it is on the bar side and so we watched many people leave as there was already a line up to the door of people waiting for a table which was unfortunate, but nonetheless we loved it. On the other hand, we had signed up for the valentine's day promotional dinner as we were staying at the hotel for two nights. We were unable to celebrate on the 14th so this was going to be our date night. We were one of two tables in the restaurant portion which was very nice for the occasion. Our server seemed very lost the entire time... She took our order and then after some time came back and said that the system was confused and asked for our orders again. We then recited our choices and she headed back to the computer. After a large chunk of time she came back and said that they no longer had one of the appetizers we ordered. No biggie, we switched to something else, however we realized that they hadn't even started our order yet since that was our first course. The presentation of all the courses were very nice. We had ordered the tenderloins as our mains, and they were definitely the chewiest/toughest tenderloins either of us had ever had. Now, I do understand that the regular menu is mostly pub style (which was pretty good as we had it on our first night), however, if you're going to offer a specialty menu, I would just hope the cut and cook are at least good. The next day when we were back at the bar, there was a male manager that had recognized us and asked how our dinners were. We then took the opportunity to politely just express our disappointment. He then made kind of an "awe" sound with a shrug, and then walked away dismissively... very weird. Overall, we would definitely come back for drinks and would recommend the atmosphere, however would not recommend spending $150+ on a feature menu as it was a...

We were looking forward to our Brew House visit as part of our stay at the neighbouring/sister Hotel.
We'd return to, and recommend, the hotel stay in a heartbeat. We'll be staying away, and staying quiet, about the Brew House for the foreseeable future.
From a reservation snafu where our week long reservation only was acknowledge & honoured after the Hotel staff had to advocate on our behalf, to the slowest and unfriendliest of service while on site. Our experience was set to be underwhelming from the beginning.
I won't comment on the beer, as brew taste is to one's own liking, but the foodâa "Detroit Style" pizza, was lacklustre and lacking in toppings or taste. We had high-hopes for our pizza, after seeing other patrons who arrived after us receive their food before us time and time again, knowing that good Motown 'Za takes at least 30mins to cook, so we were prepared to wait.
An hour later our pizza arrives.
It was hot in temperature, but that was about it.
We told ourselves that if the pizza tasted like the best we ever had it might be that we were hungry beyond belief. No problem determining what the cause of enjoyment was, because there was none.
Not once were we asked how our meal was, or our experience. Not once we were thanked for our patronage.
Perhaps the serving staff, the chefs, and the Brew House as a whole were having an off night. We all have days where we aren't our best. But, we'll never know as we won't head back next time we're in town.
It seems like these days that brew pubs have a license to print money. Craft beer fans flock to them like they are going out to style, the beer is brewed wild and crazy without a license, and the food is generally on par with the quality of the beer.
Unfortunately, places such as the Brew House haven't realized that brewing and crafting food on it's own isn't enough. A focus on quality, intentionality, and overall experience delivery is...
Read moreWent to the grove on Saturday night to celebrate my 40th Birthday. My Dad made reservations for 6:30 for 5 people. When we arrived we were seated at a table for 4. My husband, son and myself were on a bench seat. It was crowded to say the least. I asked the hostess if we could get a bigger table. She said it was busy. I asked her if she would sit 5 adults at this table. She was going to check and see if there was a table. The waitress come and we ended up staying there since we didn't see the hostess again. All of a sudden the couple beside us is moving closer to us. They are now moving their table almost touching ours. They looked just as stunned as we were. The food was good. Not great. Our waitress was really good. My Dad gave her a 25% tip so I think she was happy. We were finishing up our drinks and all of a sudden. What do you know? The hostess comes over. She is now telling us that there is a two hour window for reservations. She has people that are waiting and we need to vacate the table. So I told her I haven't heard from you in two hours to see if you were going to get us another table, but now you're here to kick us out. Not great communication. Let's just say I wasn't very happy. On my way out I spoke with One of the managers at the bar and explained the situation. I was very unhappy and I wanted to speak to somebody about it. She told me don't ruin your evening and she took my contact info and told me she would get a hold of me on Sunday. It is now Wednesday evening and I haven't heard a thing. I gave them ample opportunity to respond and now all I can tell you is I will never go to this establishment again nor will I recommend it to any...
