Went to dinner during mid-August with a group of six friends in what was to be our first dinner out together after the re-opening of dine-in due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The quality of the food was superb and our server always showed a friendly and professional demeanor and worked very hard for us. However, our experience in the restaurant was severely tainted by what appeared to be just one other employee: a tall woman wearing pumps who continually stood by the server window. At least half of the items myself and my friends ordered never made it to our table, and it appeared the reason was because this one woman, who was not our server, kept grabbing our orders and giving them to her own tables. She would stand next to the window continually and grab plates the second they came out of the kitchen without apparently checking which table they were for, as we witnessed numerous plates containing the exact food items we had ordered being dropped off by her at other tables. As she did so, we also noticed expressions of bewilderment on the faces of the customers and even heard a few vocalize their confusion as to why they were receiving extra orders. It did not seem to matter what we would order, as we never received multiple orders of sashimi, hand rolls and tempura, among others, throughout the evening. Due to us not receiving so many of our orders, several members of our party spent much of our time in the restaurant agonizing in hunger and furious at missing out on all the things we had wanted to try. To top it off, I flagged down another server to go tell the woman who had been giving our plates away to put her mask back on, as I spotted her standing by the server window with her mask down over her chin, despite the regulations. In the end, we left the restaurant very angry and dissatisfied with our experience, but the only thing preventing this review from being only one star was the incredible efforts of our primary server. He went above and beyond to try and retrieve orders for us directly from the kitchen so they wouldn't be stolen and apologized to us profusely for the gross misconduct of his colleague. If it was not for him, we would have most certainly left the restaurant still hungry in addition to the aforementioned. If I knew I would get the level of service he provided, I would return in a heartbeat, but it will be a very difficult decision...
Read moreBEWARE!!! Hi everyone, went to lunch today at HANAMI SUSHI & WOK, 2762 Boul. St-Charles, Kirkland, QC. H9H-3B6. We found steel wool wire inside our SUSHI! The owner responded by saying “we don’t have that in the restaurant!” To make matters worst they sent there 16 year old daughter who later we found out is the Manager to deal with us. I just wanted them to say sorry. Maybe offer us a new order of food. Figure out where it came from so it won’t happen again. The situation was so unbelievable that I had to take pictures! We were a party of 5 at $24.99 person. I said that “I am not paying for my meal that we cannot eat! They ended up charging us for 3 people with a 10% off. Which is not right because they were not finish. There reaction to my post on Facebook was we were abusive (NOT TRUE)to there 16 year old daughter that I made her cry because I was going to report them. It escalated when the Manager came outside to tell me that we were not allowed to stand outside on the shopping mall sidewalk! “She said it was private property”. I told her we are on public property! She said that they didn’t charge us for 2 people…I would hope not since we couldn’t eat the plate with wire in it! Then she came back out with the owner. Got a little intense, we left. They never took responsibility for the situation.
In response to owners comment:
You can write whatever you want but the bottom line is the steel wool wire was found in our food in your restaurant. Had it been handled properly like you said, we would not have been so upset. Instead you try to justify the situation by blaming us for the incident. It wasn’t a hair…it was a steel wool wire! Telling people that you should check your cameras is not apologizing…it’s accusing us of...
Read moreVery nice! I'm so happy they opened so close to me! I didn't like how the hostess left me alone without explaining how to order lol I've never been there before, and she seemed upset and impatient when I didn't already know and asked for help because I'm a noob lol. I feel like she was 14 years old or something so I don't think she could help it. Super kind servers though! Cool phone ap for ordering! I love how I could see my order history and track how much I eat! I feel more confident to order non-ayce now! The padthai noodles was huge (for ayce) but not spicy, I was expecting some pain since I chose the hottest, but was still fun to select intensity in their cool app. All their cooked meats like chicken (breast? Had it in the padthai only), ribs, beef slices (had in ramen only) felt and looked over beaten and mushy so I don't recommend they continue that method. All flavors of everything was nice. Bathrooms were super clean and modern! I think matsuno sushi is better in terms of the cooked meat quality and more options, but I'll happily just indulge more into my favorite selections because it's so close to home. I noticed I no longer taste the difference when I order so many different varieties anyways, so I really don't mind. Octopus (or squid?) was great! Loved the eel too! And the tomago 🍳🐟 !!!! I still couldn't try most of their menu as I was too full within my second round! I went alone and feel I eat much less than when I'm with a group lol I missed sushi so much and haven't eaten out in years, learned a lot today lol thx guys 👍
Came back for lunch, was great. We really enjoyed their "Carafe Sake", was delicious, hot, and...
