I walked into Amir Kirkland tonight at 10:15, looking to order take out.I walked up to the counter and was rather rudely told that I couldn't order anything but chicken, that everything was "closed".All I wanted was something vegetarian, it would have been so simple for the guy behind the counter to scoop some vegetables into a styrofoam container, I didn't need it warmed up or anything.I pointed out that they close at 10:30, that it was not closing time yet."Whadda ya want?"Was so put out by this guy's attitude that I walked right out.If it's marked on the door that Amir is open until 10:30, shouldn't this establishment respect their hours of operation?Maybe the guy working behind the counter should change his shift, if he's unwilling to serve, or to even be civil, to a customer.By the way, I work 2 doors down from Amir, work in a restaurant, and have NEVER spoken to a customer the way I was spoken to.Also, if customers come in 15 minutes before closing time, I inform them politely that the kitchen will close in 15 minutes, but I will serve them gladly.I'm upset over the way I was treated, like I was ruining the guy's night or something, like I was doing something wrong, by coming in and trying to order something...
Read moreI have been going to this place off and on for some time. Once in while the service is ok but most of the time they are very slow. What is most annoying is that they are very stingy when it comes to servings. Lebanese culture is very giving where they make sure you are not hungry. But the people at this restaurant act very cheap. There is one guy in particular (a relatively young, short fellow) who charges extra if you want a little bit more of the hummus. Hummus! It isn't even that expensive. He picks up one little teaspoon of it and will put it on the plate. If you ask for more, then he has the gall to say he will charge extra.
All in all, the people at this restaurant need to learn that you don't treat your customers this way. So my advice is to find one of the many other places (even other Amir's) in the West Island. There is a really nice Lebanese place at Marche L'Ouest run by a husband/wife team. They are very generous, friendly and accommodating. And yes, they will give you extra of anything you want, and they have the simple decency not to ask for more money.
Bottom line -- avoid the Kirkland Amir on St. Charles until they shape up. I'll give them one more chance next month and get back with...
Read moreMy first visit to this Amir after passing by for so many years. Here is my opinion.
16 Mar 2025.
Pros: A) We ordered Sharma sandwich 3 and a combo plate. And they were good. The sandwich is plentiful and also as the combo plate. B) The restaurant looks clean and is spacious. I am surprised that this restaurant had big enough space for many people. C) Customer service is good and they were friendly but the employees look bored and somewhat friendly and the two men were playful. D) Good location as well and they speak good English although they were talking in another language at times.
Cons: A) The television they were playing in was in their language and I did not understand the saying. Maybe put more English or French. Or just have no TV. B) Have more flags of 🇨🇦 🇺🇸. We need more patriotism of our own country not outside
Conclusion: It’s an okay Amir. I may come back here again in the near future. Their food was good and cooked fresh and they were friendly.
God Bless the store and hope They improve.
God Bless you all. Thank you.
