We had ordered delivery when they had first opened, and were quite surprised and decided to try dine in. As you walk in, you are greeted by the whole team (it was the case for us), and shown to our table. We looked at the menu, and everything looked good, so one of the owners came and asked if we had eaten there before, and needed suggestions. We ended up picking 2 platters (our eyes were bigger than our stomach, but wanted a dine experience that cannot be delivered) and decided to take Collection d'Art and Le mini pureste (sashimi). It took 15 minutes between ordering and receiving the food to our table as if we were presented with a spectacle/show; beauty on a platter. I have been to higher-end sushi restaurant, and I am making the statement that this joint is now part of my top 1 place to have sushi. Compare it to Maiko if you want, you will not be disappointed. Having travelled to Japan multiple times, sushi's most important ingredient is rice, and the seasoning of it. Sushi Yuu's rice is perfectly well seasoned with a good quality rice vinegar to balance the fish in a bite. Good sushi takes time to prepare and plate for not only a culinary experience for your mouth, but for your eyes. If you want your "everyday generic sushi fast food" go elsewhere. I highly recommend this place. Thank you for tasty rolls, and quality sashimi-flavorful (I didn't write fresh sashimi because that is a given when you order sashimi, fish should always be...
Read moreI love sushi and I've never had any issues with their food. I have previously only ordered takeout and was pretty happy with it. They're affordable and fresh. They no longer have the wok menu, so there's only a handful of non-raw things you can eat. (Sorry dad)
They are mainly a takeout restaurant. I would advise against eating in. I think it would best if the restaurant just stopped serving dine in and put more seating for people waiting for their take out.
We reserved for my son's birthday and when we got there, no table. We waited 30minutes. They can only seat 12 people in the whole place. They can take your reservation but they won't hold it for you even if you get there on time.
Once seated, you will get zero service. They bring you the food. That's it. They put water on your table. I dont even know if they even have tea. They do not have a wait staff.
As mentioned, the food is good. Standard sushi but fresh. They were only 2 people making sushi and it was long. They did ask us to order while we waited for our table which cut down on the wait time for food.
This was possibly one of my preferred take out sushi places, but the dine-in experience left a sour note. We will not...
Read moreWonderful sushi restaurant!
We ordered and ate at the restaurant, so maybe that's why it took 45 minutes to receive our food, but it was definitely worth the wait! We were three people and ordered calamari with a collection. When discussing if we wanted to get something else, the waiter interjected to say it would be more than enough food. Which it was! We were struggling to finish by the end. So definitely a + for service.
The Art Collection is aptly named because once it arrived at our table, we had to admire the presentation of the chromaticaly displayed creations. The charcuterie style board was impressive!
The flavor combinations were out of this world! Everything was super fresh as well. However, the Dragon Eyes were plain and we weren't a fan of the sushi with the sticky rice paper due to its consistency.
It came out to...
