Arby's — Restaurant in Kitchener

I grew up believing that Arby's was some "has been" American fast-food chain where the grub was sub-par and the chance of food poisoning was likely. I think in part this is because of a certain Simpsons episode where someone comments "I'm so hungry I could eat at Arby's" and the response is "Oh man, she IS hungry". Anyhoo, after recently hearing positive comments about their food from a certain Canadian chef (Matty Matheson) and watching various Youtubers "eat the menu", I decided today was the day to sample this fare. To my delight I was greeted by a HUGE lineup in the drive thru. I found this oddly comforting. Surely they must be doing something right. After a bit of a wait I ordered a Classic Beef n'Cheddar with mozzarella sticks and a Jamoca shake. I also asked for some "horsey sauce" which I heard was good (note: terrible name to have associated with a chain that says "We have the meat!!"). All that said, I was shocked by how much I enjoyed the sandwich, especially with the "horsey" sauce. Mozza sticks were what I dreamed of as a fat kid and the Jamoca shake puts all other shakes to shame. My goodness! I noted while I sat in my car in their parking lot and gorged my face that there was a slew of cars waiting in line all the way to the road and that some people abandoned the long line and sped away. Again, this only added to my realization that I was clearly not " in the know " about how good this place is for fast food. I would have given 5 stars but methinks the drivethru may be "slow" or it could have simply been the lunch rush. Anyway, gallop your way...

Arby's is usually my favorite place and it's always such a treat to get my beef and cheddar sandwich...... Until today, that is!! Because of the quality of food and the absolute terrible service I received through the drive-thru at lunch today, I'm not sure that I will ever return to this location.

The service: I waited 12 minutes at the drive-thru widow before anyone even came to the window. When the worker finally came to the window, there was no apology for the wait or even a hello. He just barked at me, "$11.30", handed me the debit machine and walked away, leaving me holding the machine for another 4 minutes. The only words spoken during the entire transaction was him telling me the amount owing. Terrible customer service!!!

The food: I'm not sure if Arby's has changed their supplier but the shaved roast beef that is usually what you expect on a beef and cheddar was thick sliced roast beef that was rubbery and tasted terrible. The sandwich was a sloppy disgusting mess.. I bought 2 sandwiches and threw the entire 2nd sandwich out!! What a waste of money and time......especially...

this is the most disgusting establishment i have ever stepped foot in. on Monday i went to go pick up dindins for the fam and we decided on a new place; being arby’s- what a mistake that was. to start off, i walked in and the tables were filled with garbage and spillage. it was gross. i waited about 15 minutes until i was spoken to by a employee. they went on to take my order, and once they read it back to me everything was wrong. my son Jared has a severe phobia of spiralled shaped foods and my daughter molly cannot handle spice. the employee did not understand my request when i asked to have those needs met. she refused and went on to spit in my face. i still paid for the food because my children and husband were getting reckless and starving. I as a mother will not let my family be unhappy, especially when I can prevent it. the employee was the most insufferable person I have ever talked to. it took about 45 mins for us to receive the food and it wasn’t even that good.
