Poor experience, felt unwelcome and rushed. Visited Friday January 31st 2020 after 10pm for a drink after a show. There were 4 of us and menus were slapped down in front of us right away without asking. We then felt awkward when we said we just wanted to drink. Perhaps a simple question could have spared us. Our drinks were brought very soon after and our server, a slim girl with blond hair, checked shortly after if we wanted more drinks. I was driving but still had plenty, I was taking it easy and indicated that I would only be having one. One of our table indicated the same. But we were enjoying the atmosphere and chatting. Most of us still had fairly full glasses when the bill arrived unprompted. I felt this was fairly pushy but ignored it. One of our party still had 1/2 a pint left when the waitress arrived with the machine. This is not OK, I asked her to take it away and come back when we asked, but the atmosphere was now soured and we all felt uncomfortable. We finished and left thinking that this would be the last time we visited. The bar was relatively empty after 10, she wasn't waiting for us to finish to refill the table. My feeling was we weren't eating and we weren't drinking enough so the tip wouldn't be big enough. time to get us to move on. Remember that we might be the 20th table you have served tonight but its been a while since your pub has had a chance to wow us. You failed miserably. We...

Ordered the sheppard's pie through skip the dishes. First time trying this restaurant after reading some of the positive reviews. I don't usually have high expectations for an online food delivery but seriously.. the presentation looked like someone had eaten what was actually my sheppard's pie and proceeded to vomit the whole thing out into the container. The oil and grease was overflowing and the whole thing was soaking wet. Really awful flavour. the whole thing tasted like greasy water. It was unedible and I ended up having to toss out the pie after only a few small bites as I was getting nauseous eating it. I ended up throwing up and had really bad stomach pain afterwards. This food is a health hazard and I probably would have ended up in a hospital if I had finished that. Approx. $20 before taxes for this mess, honestly you'd have more luck with the frozen sheppard pies at Walmart or Sobeys. We also found a small piece of hair in our gravy. So all in all, we truly appreciate the amount of care and hard work that this lovely and wonderful team of chefs have put into preparing our dinner this evening as whoever cooked this pie should not be anywhere near a kitchen, and maybe a career change would be a good idea...

We decided to drop in after work, I was starving! The waitress J. came along and took a drink order and asked if we were waiting on someone else and we absently-minded nodded yes... little did we know!! Some time later she took a food order, I asked for the soup and it came along shortly (delivered by someone else) as did our third person. When everyone else around us at the other tables had received their food I asked the waitress "where is our food?" She looked at me and said in a snarky voice "you were waiting for someone else. Is that OKAY???" What did she want an argument right there? I should have called over the manager. Instead our food arrived one hour after we sat down. The service was really really bad and she charged me for an extra soup instead of a side and my fries were cold. When she brought the bill she handed it to my male friend who then handed it to me. At the sight of me handling the bill she dropped the machine on the table and left with a ton of attitude. Unfortunately I could not say it loud enough " I didn't leave you a tip, is that OKAY????" Won't go back even if the...

Visited Whale & Ale British Pub, and I must say that the ambiance was perfectly British as the name suggests. The atmosphere was very soothing, and the beer was served cold and refreshing, making for a perfect outing with friends. Despite this, our overall experience was quite pleasant, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful evening out with friends on Victoria Street near Breslau. A noteworthy perk of this pub is that there's a beer store nearby, so if you want to drink more, you can easily buy from there. I would like to give special thanks to Haley, who was our awesome host during the visit. She provided us with excellent guidance on the beer and food choices, and was very accommodating when we mentioned that we did not enjoy the chicken wings. We meant no offense to the chef, as the other food items we tried, such as the onion rings, fish and chips, and spinach and artichoke dip were all awesome. Overall, Whale & Ale British Pub is a great spot to enjoy a few beers with friends in a charming British ambiance, accompanied by delicious food options.

I recently visited Whale & Ale British Pub with a group of 6 people for lunch, based on an enthusiastic recommendation from a coworker. The comfortable and authentic pub atmosphere was immediately inviting and easily accommodated the size of our group. We were seated at a large, round table located near the back of the restaurant and were able to converse comfortably in the quiet environment. I had my order promptly taken by the friendly and polite staff member who informed us of the daily specials and brought each guest a glass of water. My personal choice, Lemon Rosemary Chicken, was made to order and took slightly longer than most other dishes to prepare, but it was certainly worth the wait. I was very satisfied with the quality of food as well as the efficient and attentive customer service I received. I enjoyed this unique restaurant's well-decorated interior and would recommend the pub to anyone looking for an out of the ordinary lunch destination.
