*** A hidden gem *** This fine restaurant serves delicious homemade dishes in a relaxed, homely atmosphere that transports you to a different place. *And, to make matters even more interesting, it also shares this space with a European grocery store and deli. Great to tackle two things in one trip!* For their signature dish, the goulash was excellent. It was complemented by freshly baked bread and perfectly balanced coleslaw. Additionally, the cheeseburger was also good, and satisfied the cravings for healthier fast food alternatives! As for dessert, try the apple or nut strudels for a light snack that won't put you into an after-lunch food coma! Their prices are very reasonable, the preparation time was fast, and the location is convenient. I highly recommend a visit - and bring your family!

Definitely a hidden gem in Kitchener. I've passed by this place countless times and only just decided to pop in. On one side is a well organized eastern European grocery and deli with lots of modestly priced international treats and some halal options. On the other side is a very homey restaurant/cafe with (presumably) authentic eats at prices that can't be beat for what you get. I sat down and tried the chevap ($11 for large), which is bbq'd mini sausages on their homemade bread served with some raw onion. Hearty and delicious. The owner is Jasna, the radiant blonde woman in my picture. Her English is so-so but she's super nice. Her son works there too. He told me they're Serbian in background. Will definitely return!

This cozy little dining room tucked away in the back room of a European deli is the very definition of a hidden gem. Service is super friendly, and the portions are very generous for the price. I ordered the small chevapi with a side of fries, and loved every bite. The chevapi were flavourful and juicy, and the fries were super crispy and piping hot, though the real star of the show was the pillowy-soft flatbread. My husband enjoyed his schnitzel, which also came with the same delicious fries and a fresh cabbage salad. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hearty meal in the K-W area.

As a fellow European, I love exploring European restaurants for that "home away from home feeling". Right off the bat, if you have a large vehicle, you will most likely struggle finding a spot to park or fit, I have an suv and was weary of others maneuvering around my car in the lot, but the parking lot was also full when I parked. Walking inside its a typical euro grocery store/restaurant, loved the atmosphere, I ordered the Vienna Schnitzel with mashed potatoes instead of fries. The food was good and the portion was decent, but I couldn't take my time actually enjoying it because I was constantly trying to swat fruit flies, flies and wasps out of my plate. I completely lost my appetite when a fruit fly landed in the gravy and couldn't get out. I was so sick of so many things flying around my plate that I just wanted to get out of there. Once I went to pay, the waiter asked how everything was, I told him the food was really good but the flies were unbearable, and he just laughed. All in all, food was good, eating it was a problem. Maybe if you try eating on the patio, you'll have better...

Went for breakfast, will NOT go back again. The menu said home fries but I got regular french fries. Also ordered my eggs over easy and they came over hard. Not a drop of moisture in the yoke . The underside was scorched brown and hard as old leather. I could not cut through them , I had to tear them. And the coffee was instant. My wife's cheese omelette was also scorched brown and rubbery . The cheese was almost non existent. The butter patt she was given for her toast was previously opened and partially used . This place is tied for wost breakfast at a restaurant in Edmonton . Don't waste your time or money on this dive !!!!! As to your response to this post: no one asked during our meal how it was. Also we did NOT finish eating it. It was terrible. Last of all, we DID pay for it. You got a bad post because your food and service was poor, terrible and...
