BYOB! (Bring your own blanket) it was so cold in there everyone was in their jackets and had their touques on the whole dinner. I wouldn't normally write reviews but we ate so quick from being cold, I had extra time. Service was awkward.. that's right. Awkward. Takes a lot to make things awkward with me but I can't really explain it any better. Hot turkey- it was warm. Ha. Veggies were great! My 'pretty sure they were from a box' mashed potatoes were cold on arrival, after asking and waiting for the butter, my butter which was warmer became cold once mixed into the potatoes. You could see the chunks of butter in my cold potatoes.... After letting the server know of this I was kindly offered new potatos I choose not to based on my previous experience at this very same restaurant- I once ordered scrambled eggs. Which was a fried egg cut up into pieces- when the waitress took them back to make real scrambled eggs My returned eggs were - wait for it---- a fried egg cut into very tiny pieces. I do give them credit for cutting the egg into such small pieces however. Back to this visit, nothing else was offered. Bill came and although I never asked for any compensation, none was granted, I felt sad that they made little effort in correcting this. So I asked for my 1.75$ hot choclate to be free to make up for my pain of lost potatoes. This they honored, it was awkward, but it was discounted. (Noticed I got a hot choclate due to the coldness- maybe it was their plan all along. Break the heat and sell more hot drinks! but jokes on them because mine was comped!) So I hope this review helps the next person, I myself will never go to this establishment again, unless I hear it's been overhauled and...
Read moreI visited Oscar's on a Saturday at 11:45 AM with a group of 7, including 3 children. We were seated immediately in a large booth which had plenty of room. (+1 ) We asked for a lunch menu which we were provided even through Saturday lunch doesn't start until 2:30 pm for some unknown reason. (+1 ) We promptly placed our orders, 2 kids having rainbow pancakes and the third with a pogo and fries. I had the Canadian Eh (pictured), my wife The Usual and our friends pancakes and french toast with sides of bacon and sausage. We all placed drink orders with the kids all having white milk... and being told that they don't offer chocolate milk... (minutes later chocolate milk is delivered to an adjacent table... Kids did not notice.) (-1) When the milk arrives the waitress dropped all 3 plaric cups at the end of the booth and walked away without a word. (-1) When the food arrives it turns out the kids pancakes are larger than the adult pancakes, albeit 2 instead of 3. (-1*) When the food arrives they don't bring out my wife's food... the server has no idea. Has to go back to the kitchen... she returns almost immediately with the plate of food. (+/-1*) They forget to bring out my friend's orange juice and needed my 7 year old to remind them. (-1*) My wife and the other couple had very good meals (+3*) their sides arrived with the meals. My eggs over easy were properly runny but the whites were not completely cooked... leaving a slimy residue on the plate and an unpleasant taste in my mouth. (-1) They offered to refill my coffee... and they never did. (-1) For 7 of us with full meals it cost less than...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my experience when I went here for breakfast. To start, the owner was walking around with a face shield (wearing it incorrectly not even remotely covering his mouth and nose). No mask being worn and he was carrying people's food to the tables. Our waitress barely came by the table and our coffee cups sat empty a majority of the time we were there. Most disgustingly, there was a hair in my food (was very clearly not my hair) and when the waitress finally returned to our table once everyone else at my table was finished eating (the first time she had come since putting our food on the table). I told her there was a hair in my food. Her response was "is it big or small?" I responded saying I'm not sure why that matters as I prefer not to eat people's hair big or small in my breakfast. She proceed to tell me that she needs to know because the kitchen staff and managers always argue that it's not their hair in the food (implying that hair ends up in the food fairly often). They gave us an extremely hard time getting my meal taken off the bill. The manager never bothered coming over to speak with us and stood in the corner of the restaurant glaring at our table. Our server when she finally dropped off the discounted bill said "next time this happens, they won't give you any money off your bill."
Needless to say I will never be going back and will be taking my business to a restaurant that appreciates...
