What a beautiful place on such a sunny day. The restaurant-cafe has a quaint charm to it and a cozy feel. It seems the Earle is under renovations. I believe they are starting up again after Covid and it appears they have a lot of new, young staff orienting.
Unfortunately, there was a long wait for our food (1hr 40mins). It seems there was a fair amount of confusion behind the counter this morning. We have been asked 4 times and reassured 5 times to confirm our order. We’ve receive 3 different reasons why our food has been delayed. 1. Machine that takes the orders is broken 2. We make it from scratch so it takes longer 3. There’s a lot of disorganization this morning. The latter comment was made but the eldest server who was doing her best to keep people in line. This comment was the truth from what we could see. Quite a few staff came to talk to us which was thoughtful however, it would have been best if one or even two designated individual were to talk to the guests and provide updates on when the food was to be delivered.
People who arrived later than us where served before us (2 different tables with same or similar orders).
Once the food arrived it was quite good and it is reasonably priced. I ordered the veggie frittata. Half way through I found a ‘bonus’ piece of salmon amongst veggies in the vegetarian omelette. Not a trouble for me since I eat fish however, some vegetarians might be surprised at the addition.
I would give this restaurant one more try once the staff and system were more organized. Perhaps a having a carbon copy note/receipt paper pad would have helped this crew in case the system fails.
The food was fresh and the desserts looked delicious! The bathroom was very clean.
Best of luck with getting this restaurant in order.
EDIT: I have removed the picture of the door at the side of the house as requested. We were informed that we could enter through it that day, somethings may have changed.
Congrats on your ‘soft opening’, it would have been excellent to be told that this was the case. Again, best of luck with the ‘many moving parts’ and...

We came with the grandkids for lunch. Everyone at the table recieved their orders except me. As the server's/runners placed the other plates on the table, no one asked - hey why doesn't she have a plate? I will ask her or go check with their server. So, I waited and waited about 15 min., everyone one at the table was done eating. Our server came by to see how the food was tasting, I told her I wouldn't know I haven't eaten yet. She apologized and went to look for my food. Came back 3-5 min later with my food. Our server did offer me a dessert on the house for the wait. I declined as I don't really eat desserts. No discount off the bill. I ordered the Angus burger -which the sign out side says 'Outdoor BBQ', however, my burger was not BBQ'd nor was it Angus- it was LITERALLY the frozen box patties from Costco. The burger looked fantastic on the plate, but on the very first bite, I knew...that slimey, rubber textured greyish "meat" at least sear it, it looked and tasted boiled...certainly not BBQ'D. I did not eat the rest of it 21$ down the drain. Not sure if I would go back. I am about 2nd chances, so I may try something else that is not BBQ'd. Maybe the breakfast next time. Great view of the water. Large patio...

Cafe Earle, the welcome newest chapter in the long and colourful history of Maison Earle House has an eclectic menu to tempt your epicurean curiosity and please the discerning palate.
Fine reimagineering of la grande Maison’s interior. Light, inviting and the varied seating choices present a reverse Goldilocks dilemma - they’re all comfortable.
There’s also, weather conducive, dining al fresco on the patio overlooking the river. Or, in the shade of the trees and lee of the Cafe’s south-side, framing the restaurant’s restful to the eyes, green space (mini-Central Park, certainement!)
An embarrassment of ‘where to park it’ possibilities. Wherever you choose, be prepared to sit a spell and savour the scenery.
Lastly, but certainly not leastly - there’s the rejuvenated Earle’s personable and friendly staff - currently learning the choreography of the demanding restaurant service dance. Be patient, they’re young and they’re improving.
Welcome back to the ‘hood Cafe Earle.
Did I mention the delectable array of pastries and deserts? Plus two pianos! (176 keys waiting to be tickled... ; )
