Located in a picturesque small town with a stunning river view, this restaurant seems to have lost its charm. The prime location is undoubtedly a highlight, offering a delightful atmosphere for diners. However, the overall experience falls short of expectations.

To start, the warm beer and lackluster other drink were disappointing. The absence of taste in the latter further dampened the dining experience. Although the food ordering process was swift, the actual delivery time was surprisingly slow, with a wait of over 45 minutes for two basic dishes.

Regrettably, the food itself failed to impress. The salad was dry and bland, lacking any excitement in its flavors. The poutine, a once-favorite dish, was a complete letdown. Overcooked fries and a remarkably dry texture left a negative impression, making it hard to recall ever having such a tasteless poutine elsewhere in the past.

It's evident that something has changed with this restaurant. Previously known for its taste and quality, it seems to have lost its way. The lack of redeeming qualities in both the food and service leaves much to be desired. Given the fantastic location, it's a shame that the overall experience doesn't live up to its potential.

In conclusion, while the river view and location are undoubtedly appealing, the warm beer, tasteless drinks, slow service, and lackluster food make it difficult to recommend this restaurant. I had the pleasure of trying Nikosi for the first time at a private staff Christmas party and it was so wonderful that we reserved for 2 for Valentine's day weekend. I cannot express how fabulous this restaurant is. The atmosphere is so welcoming with staff that help one another in a way I don't see often. There is no concern over "who's customer " you are, if staff is passing by, they will check on you. The food is perfect, I had a Veggie burger and salad, that my partner finished off for me which is amazing as he never likes my veggie options!! He had the steak and fries and his eyes lit up at the first bite. We shared a crème brulée for dessert but next time we will each get our own....too good to share 😉. Good stuff to come below. We went for the butter duck but it wasn't available today :( ordered the duck salad and asked to split it onto two plates, it was not split when it arrived and we had to do it ourselves. Asked for side plates to share, plates were tiny, had to ask for bigger ones. I wouldn't recommend the duck salad, it lacked flavour. The fish and chips were PHENOMENAL though!!! SO good. All in all, the service wasn't great at first but they acknowledged that and tried to improve very quickly which was much appreciated. Some days aren't always great for any resto so we did appreciate the effort and still had a lovely time! Next time I'll call in advance to make sure the meal I want is...
