I’ve heard about this place via social media and wanted to try it. Here’s what I ordered.
The Order: Beef Shawarma Bowl Falafel Pita Sandwich Falafel Bowl Zaatar Fries
Total: 40.84$ (cad)
Let's start by acknowledging the cozy vibe of this place the minute you step inside the restaurant. The decor is simple but it reflects the authenticity of what Falafel Blvd is offering and let’s not forget an inviting aroma that immediately tells you this place means business. Now, let's get into the order.
Falafel Bowl: The falafel bowl came with 6 falafels, tabouleh, pali salad, red cabbage, pickles, hummus, and zaatar chips. Apart from the falafels that stood out with their golden brown colour on the outside and perfectly tender texture on the inside with every bite bursting with flavour, everything else from that dish was just ordinary. The zaatar chips weren't seasoned with any salt, I couldn't really taste the zaatar to be honest and basically they were tasteless on their own. I rate the falafels on their own a 9/10 and the rest of the bowl a 6/10
Falafel Pita Sandwich: Let me just start by saying, this is not my first rodeo with falafel pita sandwiches but I can assure you this one was by far the best l've had so far. From the fresh pita bread, to the delicious individual falafels and all the garnishes which includes: hummus, salad pali, red cabbage, pickles, turnips, and tahini, this falafel sandwich definitely was the star of the whole meal. Whoever that came up with the recipe definitely knows what they're doing. I rate it 9/10
Zaatar Fries: This was my first experience eating fries seasoned with zaatar and let me tell you, it won't be the last. I was thoroughly surprised by how crispy they were and how much flavours they had. I would've loved a little bit more zaatar sprinkled on them but that's just me. I rate it a 8/10
Beef Shawarma Bowl: I don't eat meat but my partner tried the beef shawarma bowl and gave it a rating of 6/10. The meat was tender, well seasoned, serving portion was good for the price but he felt like the beef shawarma didn't quite hit the mark for him.
Did Falafel Blvd lived up to the hype? Overall, I would say yes. Although, I really didn't care about their "salad bowl", when it came to those zaatar fries, the falafel sandwich, and those freshly made pita breads... they sure didn't miss a beat. I will definitely go back to try more items and that's why I rate Falafel BIvd a 4...
Read moreFor anyone seeking a break from the generic Middle-Eastern fast food chains around Montreal, Falafel Blvd is your place to go. During my visit on a Saturday evening, the place was bustling with a crowd eagerly awaiting their orders. With a cozy seating capacity for about 15 people, be prepared for a short wait during peak hours.
Falafel Blvd's menu goes beyond its stellar falafel offerings. Featuring Middle-Eastern classics such as tangy fattoush and smoky baba ghanoush, each dish is a celebration of fresh, high-quality ingredients. The Shawarma sandwiches, a personal favorite, were a delightful experience with 100% halal meat or chicken pan-fried fresh on the spot and enveloped in their homemade pita - totally different from the typical shawarma experience. The Za'atar fries were delightfully crispy, and the Fatet Hummus is a heavenly blend. However, the undisputed star of the show was the falafel. Each bite was a revelation, boasting a crisp exterior that gives way to a fluffy and flavorful interior. The secret blend, crafted by owner Saed's mother, preserves the true essence of Palestinian culinary traditions.
What truly sets Falafel Blvd apart is its commitment to everything being homemade and authentically Palestinian--a genuine labor of love. Moreover, every meal purchased contributes to feeding impoverished children, adding a meaningful dimension to your dining experience.
Falafel Blvd transcends being merely a place to savour exceptional falafel; it is a beautiful cultural experience. For those yearning for a taste of Palestine in every bite, this restaurant is a must-visit, offering not just a meal but a genuine connection to the heart and soul of Palestinian...
Read moreI hadn’t been to Falafel Blvd. in over a year, but I still remembered how tasty it was, so I made a point of going back—and I’m really glad I did. With so many restaurants to choose from in and around Laval and Montreal, I rarely return to the same spot more than once or twice. But Falafel Blvd. is an exception. The quality and freshness here are hard to forget.
What sets this place apart is that they make the falafel fresh, right when you order. It’s not sitting under a heat lamp or pre-cooked in batches. That alone makes a big difference—the outside is perfectly crisp, and the inside is fluffy and full of flavour. The menu includes a few other Middle Eastern favourites, but the falafel easily steals the show.
The space itself is small, with just a few tables inside and a couple outside, but it’s cozy and welcoming. Everything we ordered was fresh, colourful, and made with care. We ordered enough for two and still had leftovers because the portions were that generous. The total for both of us came in just under $50, which is rare for a meal this filling and this good.
All in all, Falafel Blvd. is a place I’ll keep coming back to whenever I’m in the area. Great value, fresh ingredients, and falafel worth the detour. Highly...
