If you're looking for the best, most fresh, delicious, authentic, homemade Greek food, you've gotta try Tripoli. Hands down, probably the BEST Greek food in montreal and I don't say that lightly. Forget about marathon, village, vieux grec, milos these places don't hold a candle to Tripoli. The owner is so meticulous and puts so much care into his food to make sure the client is pleased, the result is insane. All ingredients (meats, veggies etc) are super fresh and of the best quality and the food is so simple and unpretentious. The standard menu will have you wondering if you've ever eaten Greek food before at all! From their souvlaki (phenomenal) to their lamb chops (exquisite) to their calamari (real calamari done right) anything you try will extract from you the same response "oh my God this is so good!!" Heres a little tip, call in and inquire what their weekly specialty dishes are going to be. Dishes like pastitsio (a type of Greek lasagna), piglet, veal, dishes such as fasolada (bean stew) and fakes (lentil soup) as good as what you would get eating at grandma's house. I was referred to Tripolis by my Greek colleague, who spoke highly of this restaurant. So, my husband and I decided to make the trek from off-island to experience it for ourselves for the first time. Our server, Richard, was very friendly and happy to tell us all about the wonderful dishes and daily specials. We shared our appetizers of grilled octopus and spanakopita. Both were so delicious! Then came the dishes of salads, and we could not believe the generous portions. We ordered lamb chops and pork souvlaki as our main dishes. The meats were grilled to perfection, and if you closed your eyes, you think you were in Greece. I couldn't leave without trying their moussaka and took one to go. If you are looking for a cozy place that serves great Greek food, look no further than this place, which is a family run business and truly takes pride in making everything delicious! "I recently visited this restaurant and was excited again to try their delicious Greek cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the seating arrangement. Despite booking in advance, I was given a table next to the kitchen, which felt like an afterthought.

I was surprised and disappointed by this, especially since there were long tables of families nearby. When I asked the staff about the possibility of moving to a table by the window or further away from the kitchen, I was told that I should have requested this when I made the booking.

While I understand that seating arrangements can be challenging, I felt that this response was unsatisfactory. As a paying customer, I expect a certain level of consideration and flexibility.
