Lakeview Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Lethbridge

Old timers know it as Bunsmaster. We used to make special trips for hamburger buns you couldn't get anywhere else. It has evolved to a very excellent deli with many bakery treats and custom-made sandwiches and excellent soup. There's always something you will want to buy but that is where they lose a star. It is really expensive at Lakeview bakery! I was there yesterday for a treat and chose a smallish pumpkin muffin with cream cheese icing for $3.25! Really Mr. Lakeview?! It happens to be the closest place from me to buy lunch and I would go hundreds of times if prices were reasonable rather than dozens of times over many years. After all, bakeries are not known for nutritious treats! Who can afford to get fat there? And the hamburger buns? I can find them everyday at Safeway...

This was my first visit to Lakeview Bakery & Deli in years. I agree with previous posts that the selection of products is outstanding, fresh and abundant. I was very excited to have found a hearty salad (taco was delicious) and pretzel cheese bun. The experience was wonderful until I was walking out and verbally attacked by the cashier. I was told I didn't package my self serve bun properly and was given a lecture. I felt criminal and shamed in front of other customers. My goodness! This is poor customer service at all levels and I don't feel like returning. In the meantime, I am sending light and love to that cashier today. Take a break, learn some communication skills and maybe package it...

Amazing and helpful staff, awesome daily lunch specials and huge selection of grab and go foods (Assorted cheese sandwich, chef salad or BLT all grain are my fav). Everything is fresh and you can get a custom sandwich if you want. Prices are lower then you would expect and the pickled eggs are the best in town! They also sell Simply Sarah's products; soups, chillies, etc in a do-it-yourself glass jars; pickles, jams, and so on. Great place to support local business's and help the community. They also sell delli meats and sweets (pies and such) that will compliment any meal...
