Ordered Paul’s breakfast. Everything was clearly home made and made to order. The bread on the menu says homemade however I’m not sure, it resembled the same bread I buy from the grocery store. The baked beans were to die for, the hash browns were out of this world as were the scrambled eggs. The bacon had good flavour but a little too much on the crispy side for me. The onions were a nice addition to the dish but they were a bit raw to compliment the dish - I would have liked to see them grilled a bit longer. The food was awesome, and the service was extremely friendly. However, why this did not receive 5 stars is because we sat down for breakfast and 1 hour and 30 minutes later we were done. We waited 10 minutes to order, 50 minutes for two plates of the exact same order to come on the table. 15 minutes to eat and another 15 minutes to pay and leave. Other customers were mumbling about the wait time to order as well. Great restaurant at the end of the day if you’re not in a rush.

What a fantastic breakfast! We arrived a little after 11AM to the restaurant, and we were welcomed by a warm and cozy from dining room with low ambient lighting. The waitress was very friendly and very courteous. First of all we were happy that we could order schnitzel that early in the day. Then, when the food arrived, we were blown away! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the all of our meals were fantastic. Half way through the meal, the owner Paul came to visit to ensure that the food was to our liking. He was very friendly and happy to answer questions about where he was raised in Germany. We learned a lot! This place is with the flight from Ontario! We will be back again in a few days.

This small and adorable quaint little cafe was just what we needed . It was recommended to us by a friend and we made the trip from Halifax to enjoy some home cooked German cuisine . We are so glad that we decided to make the Sunday drive with the family to get a taste for the delicious food. Traditional German Cuisine without having to leave the country to do so . We will definitely be back again soon , it was amazing . The service was spectacular and it made us feel right at home . We weren’t rushed and the beautiful smiles from the staff were just what we needed . Thank you for the amazing experience .

We arrived this morning for a breakfast with a group of 9 (5 adults and 4 children), we are visiting the area and like supporting smaller businesses during our travels. When we arrived (at 10am when they opened) we were met with a very unpleasant and overwhelmed waitress, Karen. She asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t, but there was only one other table of two on the patio, she stormed off saying she would have to “talk to the owner”,she didn’t give us the choice to sit on the patio. When we asked for a high chair she got huffy and stormed off, to which we told her we would get our own from the car. The children (ages 5-7) were trying to get settled (who was sitting next to who) when, who we assume was the owner came in and was very intimidating towards the children, pointing his finger right into one of the boys faces and saying “when you’re in my house, you listen to me”. It made us all feel uneasy and we should have left at that point. We watched as two other tables of two got seated on the patio, and she went and took their breakfast order before even asking what we wanted to drink. Finally at 10:25 she came and took our order, she mentioned again that “we should have had a reservation” I told her we aren’t from around here so we didn’t know it was recommended, she was very rude and seemed very VERY annoyed by us. When she was taking the kids order, one boy was excited to show her his new animal book, she got down in his face and said “I can’t hear your sister” very rudely, and when it was his turn, he just tried to show her what he tried earlier but she snapped back saying “are you going to eat or just tell stories” again in a very rude tone. We didn’t get our coffee/water until 10:49, which was served by a lady who usually works in the kitchen but they pulled her out to help, she was very friendly and kind(didn’t catch her name). We asked her if our orders were started, to which she said they weren’t but should start to come out in about a half hour. We told them we were leaving, and mentioned to her how two tables had their order taken long before our order was taken. When we left, Karen still went on about reservations, to which we told her what would be the difference if a group of 4 and 5 came in at the same time, )we were physically sat at different tables)and asked if the people on the patio (about 5-6 tables at this time) had reservations, and they didn’t. Karen kept coming up with excuses as to why things were so slow, but never apologized. We paid for our coffees and took the kids to McDonald’s where they enjoyed their breakfast. Would NOT recommend this place, the food might be good, but with such terrible service it...

While renting a cottage in Shelburne, we decided to visit Liverpool for the day. So glad we did, or we would never have experienced the pleasure of eating at this wonderful little restaurant! It was a beautiful, hot, late September day so we sat outside on the lovely patio with good qualitt, comfortable furniture. The inside is also beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Now to the food! We both opted to have the home made sausages, with a mushroom gravy and German style potatoes. It came with a tasty side salad. Without a doubt these were the best sausages we have ever tasted in our 64 years! They were perfectly seasoned and so juicy! And the potatoes! Crispy, not greasy and with some chopped bacon ...I was sure I would never be able to finish the generous portion but I had to! They were too delicious to leave any behind. We were hoping to try the apple strudel as we'd heard good things about it, but we had no room for dessert. So we did the logical thing and took two portions to go. It didn't disappoint! The pastry and filling are mouth wateringly good, and the addition of sliced almonds makes it the best I've ever had. They have a good selection of beers and wines to accompany your meal, and we had excellent service from the waiter. I forgot to ask his name, but I believe he said he was from Milton. He helped to add to the great experience, and even brought our dog a bowl of water! We had a lovely chat and a few laughs with Hans, the owner/chef, at the end of our meal, which added to the great experience we had at this wonderful restaurant. Go! You will...

Made reservations to come here for noon on a winter Thursday, but it was pretty quiet. I think maybe reservations are normally recommended but heavy snow was forecast and probably less busy due to that. Anyway, this is an older home converted into a restaurant. You walk up a couple of steps and there is a patio in the front, maybe seating inside for 30 or so? Nicely decorated with random artwork, a collection of mugs along one wall, German radio playing. A front room, a mid-room, and then another table for six in a rear room near the back door. I didn't check, but the back door may be accessible. Simple, friendly service. I tried Paul's special hot dog, which was good. Sauerkraut, a tomato sauce and juice sausage on a baguette bun. Messy to eat, but on its own was enough for lunch for me. My friend had the sauerkraut lunch that comes with a full sausage, mustard on the side, two scoops of yellow mashed potato. He liked it, finding the flavors to be mild overall. I'd go back and try something else, especially...
