We were told that this particular restaurant was a staple in liverpool. We were recommended it by several people. My wife being an immigrant from China always likes to test the Chinese restaurants when we travel.
I was really hopeful because of how proudly everyone spoke about this establishment. Unfortunately I was kind of disappointed. Normally when we go to a Chinese restaurant we asked specifically for the Chinese menu because it has more authentic Chinese items on it. Unfortunately, they didn't have one here and most of the Chinese food is the exact same thing you get that pretty much every other Chinese restaurant in the province.
The price was reasonable, the location was very different from all of the other locations we've been to before. The food however, it did taste nice but it was just the same. We were really hoping for something different. Given the size of Liverpool it is no wonder that they don't have more options on the menu. There's just not enough people...
Read moreI'm sorry . I hate doing bad reviews but it was a shock for me because I normally get chinese food in the valley where I live, I go to Kao Chinese restaurant but because I am working on the south shore today I went into Liverpool. This restaurant needs a major change . Food was not good at all. Smallest chicken sweet and sour I have ever seen. Rice not tasty. Beef and broccoli not tasty either . Portion sizes for teens or children but not for adults , i even asked to have extra rice in exchange for not getting the ribs in the combo plate .amd portion size was ridiculous. $20 plus tip and I did take out . I won't be back because I don't see changes happening anytime soon. I honestly feel locals have no clue what real chinese food or real food is .sorry guys but it's true
I may be spoiled having traveled half the globe and been to many restaurants but this is not for me for sure. I wish them all the best and I do hope they change their cooking style and portion...
Read moreUnfortunately this spot is not very good. Decided to take a chance when i was in Liverpool for work and was very disappointed.
I ordered the #2 combo which is your standard sweet and sour chicken combo. Which came to 20$ after a 15% tip.
It was tiny, when i say tiny i mean very small. Like others have said i could have eaten two of these and had room for more.
The chicken balls themselves were we very small and the sauce was your standard cherry sauce. The batter was definitely different as well. This was served with two tablespoons of rice and an egg-roll that was mostly hollow.
The egg-roll itself, if there was anything in it was cabbage, maybe a few specks of ground pork.
The only think that gave this place two stars is the very quick and outstanding service from the waitress.
Was mostly my fault as i didn't bother to read the reviews beforehand but now i see a-lot of people had the...
