We went in to get two blizzards. We have a low income every second week after all our bills get paid, we typically only have tip change from our jobs, no biggie. So we walked in, and the girl that was working there rolled her eyes at us when my wife pulled her money out of her purse because it was loonies toonies and quarters. The woman working was so disrespectful towards us, looking at her co workers and shaking her head at the fact we were paying with change. Dont know why it was a big deal, my wife counted it for her in front of her so she wouldnt have to do it herself. So we didnt have enough for the blizzards, and we warned them about that, we told them we would pay debit or credit after, my wife wasnt sure how much money she had left on her debit card but tried it, unfortunately it didnt work. So I used my credit card, and the machine was refusing to work for it. Dont know why, it just started reading things in french. It should have worked, I dont know why it didnt. But the girl working was sighing and rolling her eyes at us as if we were holding up the line, even though nobody was in line. We just felt uncomfortable with the way the worker was eye balling us and rolling her eyes at us. Anyways, another worker comes up and says "Is this how much they owe" The girl had an attitude for some reason and just shrugged her shoulders. Anyways, the worker allowed us to just take our blizzards, which would have been a really kind gesture if the worker wasnt doing the same thing the counter worker was doing, aka, rolling her eyes ECT. Dont get me wrong, im thankful we were allowed to have our blizzards when we couldnt fully pay, but being ignorant and rude to customers is NOT going to make us happy, even when you do something nice for us. Anyways, that would have been the end of the situation if the girl at the counter didnt pick up the money we gave her and started showing her co workers it all while making a dirty look and her co workers laughing. Pretty ignorant and disrespectful way of treating customers. Like I said, we would have been really happy and thankful if Dairy Queens workers wernt so ignorant, rude, disrespectful and worst of all, judge mental. I hope the next person they treat like that doesnt walk away like we did. Hopefully theyll get what...
Read moreMy husband and I arrived at Dairy Queen Lower Sackville at 840pm on a Thursday evening. We both ordered medium blizzards and we ordered a burger and chicken strip meal. Before we could even order, we noticed a couple waiting to have their order taken, and a staff member chatting with two customers off to the side. After about 5 minutes of chatting, the staff member came back to the counter to take their order.
We had placed our order, and immediately the server brought us our blizzards. One medium as ordered, and the other small. Which should have been a medium. I let the server know and she had remade our blizzard. We then proceeded to wait 25 minutes for our burger and chicken strips. There were only three other people in the restaurant, also waiting for their meals. Other customers went up to the counter asking where their food was and if it was forgotten. We found that the staff seemed to be more worried about wiping down unoccupied tables rather than assisting in the kitchen. Shortly after 9, I had approached the counter asking if there was a way to leave comments etc. the girl told me to leave a review. She had never offered coupons or any discount for our wait. Shortly after, a lady came out to deliver our food. As a dine in option. We had to then send her back to the kitchen to pack up our food, as originally requested. My husbands chicken was fine, however his serving of fries was far below what would normally be expected.
This is not the first time we’ve experienced very lengthy waits for food at this location in a very quiet restaurant. If we wanted to wait 25 mins for a burger and chicken strips, we would go to Boston pizza. Very disappointed in this location. In the future, we will consider using the 25 minute wait time to drive to a...
Read moreI was going there atleast 2 times a week between April and July but had to switch locations because the stupid scanner for collecting reward points and redeeming them has been broken forever. I’m closer to Larry Uteck so bayers lake is not far.
Atmosphere is not the best because it’s busy and the seating is very congested and you don’t get much privacy…but it is a small store so I doubt they can do much about it. Staff could be a little better with communication and being more friendly. It shouldn’t always be a “NO” answer when asking for something rarely asked, it makes customers feel limited and not being able to get what they want ( like asking for a specific topping in your blizzard ). Nobody looks happy there and it makes you feel guilty because you feel like your bothering the staff while they take your order, that’s something the management team should work on. The DQ franchise is supposed to be a fun and friendly place to be at. Families go there as a tradition and groups of friends go there to chill and enjoy some awesome food. Team leadership is very important in any customer service environment. Find a staff that play well together and who are more positive in life. Being served something that makes people very happy by people who are very unhappy is just going to destroy the...
