*Updated Review* Have had major issues, as a type 1 diabetic and parent of a T1D child, with carbs being far higher than indicated in nutritional info. Croissants made with tapioca resulted in blood glucose levels of 17 mmol/L in me and 21 mmol/L in DD. Texture was also very starchy and quite obviously not made of (or made of much) almond flour as was indicated on ingredient list. *Original Review* As a keto eater I am very happy about this place and foresee myself spending a lot of money here. You can get all kinds of baked and cooked goods from staples like bread to entrees like calzones and mozzarella sticks. You can get things here that simply aren't available anywhere else in Halifax, like a croissant sandwich with ham and cheese. I strongly encourage you to visit. There are a couple of issues to be aware of. One is that it's inconveniently located in lr Sackville. I hope that as business picks up they will get a Halifax location. The other concerns the freshness of frozen goods. Check for bread mold. I have attached a pic of lemon sticky buns with blue mold. I didn't care too much and just cut it out and ate it anyway, but biting into this without knowing there was mold would have been unpleasant. The foods spoil very quickly and need to be kept frozen. Management needs to make sure baked goods go in the freezer asap before they develop mold. .

If I could give them 0 stars I would. STAY AWAY from this business. Noticed this ā€œFreedom Mapā€ sign in their window. It took all of 2 seconds to google ā€œsave Canadaā€ and discover that this bakery is supporting harmful, hateful and selfish ideologies, including but not limited to; freedom convoy protests and racist, anti-vaccination, anti-masking, anti-LGBTQ AND anti-abortion rhetoric. If you are a human-being who has empathy and actually cares about the wellbeing of ALL other humans (including those who are immunocompromised) then please DO NOT support this business and tell others to stay far far away.

Savory, sweet, snacky, sippy, Locally Baked blew my mind with its selection of specialty and impossible to find products for any meal, mood, or munchie that might strike you! Such a special bakery and grocery store! Google is showing the wrong open hours for the store, the correct hours are hung in the front window and posted on the Facebook page.

I discovered this amazing shop a few years ago when googling keto options near Halifax and then started following them on FB. I’m from Hfx but currently living in ON but always looking for new keto/low carb treats when I’m home visiting family. Originally I was hooked by the amazing cheesecakes…but on my last trip home this past Summer we had time to make a couple of visits to the new location. I was in heaven to find low carb donair egg rolls!!! Omg - what a treat after a few min in the air fryer. My family always does a donair night when we come home so we went back and asked if we could buy a large container of donair sauce - the amazing owner went in the back and packaged one up no problem. We used our own keto wraps and sauce with reg donair meat while our family had their donairs. The funny thing was after tasting our sauce everyone agreed it was far superior to the reg sauce from the pizza shop.

We bought a few variety packs of sweets and I can’t really say what my faves were - everything was very good with some things being exceptional. The cake slices were definitely delicious! We bought a bunch of pantry treats to bring home like sugar free pistachio pudding mix (yum) and we tried a couple ā€œpastasā€. One brand was soooooo close to real pasta that we were amazed. After eating keto noodle substitutes for the past 4+ years it was such a TREAT!!!

We do have a few keto places within 30 min of where we live but nothing comes even close to what we purchased while in Hfx. I’m dreaming they franchise one of these days haha We had some lovely chats with the owner and are looking forward to our next visit home this Summer. If you’ve been eating low carb for awhile you know many products cost more and they don’t always taste great. I found prices reasonable compared to other low carb options but I found taste and quality to be superior. Lots of great options of you are trying to move away from sugar. If you are new to low carb eating I would ask what some of the best sellers are and go from there as there are a lot of choices and it was hard to decide what to pick. Best low carb shop I have found so far. Thanks for making healthy food taste delicious! Dietary restrictions shouldn’t mean you have to feel deprived. It’s much easier to make this a lifestyle than a diet with good food options. See you in 6 months! And hopefully you will have lots of those donair...

I can not say enough great stuff about this place. They have some if not the best selection of savory, sweet and pantry staples for anyone who has dietary restriction based in Celiac or diabetes so Keto safe for those who need it. I am celiac who has issues with sugars and thier products will make you cry tears of joy. I found them by accident drive through Stewaicki @ the Robins bought a few things and then in the way back to NB I bought out the freezer (not kidding) of anything I wanted. Are they a bit higher in price yes but because each product is HUGE and wonderful and high quality and I stock anytime I find someone in NS close to us and been lucky enough to go to the store once and stocked up and skipped to my car with a dozen pre ordered cupcakes lol. Honestly they are amazing and I have never not been happy with anything I have gotten even my husband who can eat anything loves thier stuff. So bring money, a cooler and just empty your trunk before you go, and pre order any goodies you...
