This is a fondu restaurant. My experience has been that you always share when eating fondu. When we said ,of course we are sharing, we were told that it would be an additional $17, which included a 2nd plate of vegetables. No where on the menu was that written. There was listings to buy additional portions of protein but you HAD to buy 2nd plate,if sharing. We wanted the table d'hote but that meant only one appetizer and one coffee and dessert, if ordering only one fondu dish! . Which was all we wanted. We ordered the salmon and fennel salad as an appetizer ( an additional $3 as it was not part of the appetizer with the table d'hote} . The salad came but no additional plate for us to share it. It was delicious , but it should have been listed as fennel and salmon, as you almost needed a magnifier to find the tiny bits of salmon! Meantime, our 3 friends with us, got their meat fondu before their cheese fondue, which they wanted to have as their appetizer while we had our salad. So, in the end, by the time they got it, we were finishing our meat fondu ( which we got the wrong meat mix at the first delivery and had to have it switched). All this, and on top of which, it was so noisy that we couldn't have a conversation and the poor waiter had to repeat things several times, as he tried to explain how the menu worked! Our friends ended up canceling their meat fondu, as they were discouraged by the whole experience and also didn't want us to wait ,as they hadn't received...
Read moreCheese fondue is good. Entree portion could afford to include chorizo for the price you pay on the table d'hôte.
Standard fondue is ordinary taste-wise, but they don't get the temp up to safe levels and I'm pretty sure they aren't serving sushi-grade prawns (which smelled sort of fishy). Broth only tastes of nutmeg as they're afraid to add any stock, presumably because they are mixing red meat and seafood. They should probably just redo their menu to accommodate two types of broth like other fondue restaurants.
Sauces were okay with a creative American saffron dip.
The beef and salmon were of good quality and the scallops were the nice big ones!
Chocolate fondue was pitiful. Granted, I wasn't very hungry by that point, but surely they can afford more than 3 lone blueberries.
Criminally overpriced.
Service was great and decor was amazing. It's just too bad it was nearly empty on a Friday night... hmm, I wonder if there's anything they can do...
Read moreCheese and seafood chinese fondue were excellent. I had the cheese and all sides tasted great when dipped. We had scampis with the chinese and they were amazing as were the scallops. Service was very friendly and informative. Recently I've found that music in various restos that I have enjoyed was spotify playlists and this was 60's which was great. Used to be that music was a personal choice of the establishment, but this was fine. Wasn't immediately impressed with the terrasse but it grows on you and was quite nice - industrial revolution factory brickwork. BYOB offests the price and ended up being not too bad....
