Stepping into Baba’s Burgers is more than just a meal, it’s a journey back in time, a warm hug for the nostalgic child in all of us.
As someone who’s always on the hunt for a classic Persian sandwich, I was not disappointed. Baba’s captures the essence of this unique culinary tradition, blending familiar flavours with a heartfelt, homemade touch.
The owner, Saied, is a true master of his craft. He has been in the hospitality industry since late 90’s, and it shows in every detail, from the pristine cleanliness of the restaurant to the warm, knowledgeable service he provides. His experience isn't just a number—it's a deep understanding of what makes a dining experience special. He knows the ins and outs of the business like the back of his hand, and this expertise shines through in every bite.
It's easy to forget that the concept of a sausage sandwich found its way to Iran through a fascinating cultural exchange. Thanks to connections with Europe, particularly Germany and Poland, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sausages became a popular import. Iranians, with their knack for innovation, quickly adopted this new ingredient and made it their own, cleverly creating sandwiches that perfectly suited their palate. Over time, this evolved into the beloved French-style baguette filled with meat, a light, tangy sauce, and a colourful medley of fresh toppings.
The Food:
I started with the classic burger and it was a delightful surprise. The homemade patty was juicy with a subtle, smoky flavour that made it stand out from the crowd. It was the perfect size, and while I would slightly modify the bread, this burger easily earns an 8/10. It’s a classic, flavourful experience that I’d choose over a smash burger any day. But the real star of the show was the German sausage sandwich. This was a truly classic Persian sandwich—well-balanced, filling, and packed with flavour. The sausage was perfectly complemented by the crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, tangy pickles, and a delicious house sauce. It reminded me that sometimes, the classics are the best. This is a welcome contrast to the modernized versions I see today, which are often overstuffed with deli meat, mushrooms, and cheese. While I do enjoy those sometimes, this simple, delicious creation earned a perfect 9/10 in my book for its commitment to tradition.
The service was impeccable, and Saied is not only friendly and helpful but also genuinely passionate about his work. The restaurant itself was immaculate and inviting. For anyone feeling a bit nostalgic or just looking for an outstanding meal, Baba’s Burgers is the place to be. I know I’ll be back for another trip down memory lane.

Read moreRude and arrogant owner... ruined our night ! Terrible customer service! Unprofessional Owner! Very disappointed with the chicken breast and salad... we were expecting a large portion because all the similar restaurants and take outs charge less than half these guys charge for the similar food. Quality was regular. They didnt even bring the food to the table despite we paid the tip initially.
The tongue sandwich is amazing though!!
The interior design and having a massive oven right beside the customers is very unprofessional.
My friends and I wont be going to this place any more.
Update: we raised the issue to the owner himself, his response was absolutely unprofessional ! The guy said dont come here anymore! Instead of thanking for a feedback that can help his business!!! I can conclude a very low customer service !!! Not a mentality to keep you in the business 😐
Update 2 response to the owner: who ever reads this comment would know the price of the food in other places. Zamani super market, for example, they charge $10.99 for chicken leg, very tender juicy and high quality. Tehran Kabob charges $10.99 too. Grocery stores charge even less. Javan kabob (yonge and wedgewood) charges $11-12. Altona Kabob charges the same. And most of these have a higher quality than Parsi Sandwich. Honestly sir (direct to the owner) you handled our feedback so terrible, we were not even complaining. We simply wanted to give you a feedback on your food and business. You became so defensive and nom-polite and started arguing with 3 customers (us). Customer is always right.... apparently not with your business. We all left your restaurant with a bad mood due to the tension that you created in us with your aggressive response to our feedback. Even if you provide the best sandwiches in the world for a reasonable price me, the other two, their family and friends wont be coming back to you. Me and my family enjoyed the tongue sandwich (take out) many times from you guys. But the taste you left with us and the bad memory of the dine in experience at your restaurant cancels out all the goodies you...
Read moreBeware!! Price Gouging and food sub par.
I have eaten here before on a few occasions before covid. I never had a bad experience with food or service. I am beyond Very disappointed with the food and my take out experience. Definitely deserves no stars.
I was picking up a koobideh lunch for my partner. The 2 skewer koobideh meal without rice and paying extra for a Greek salad was already $21.46. I had asked upon ordering for ONE separate Barg (steak) kabob skewer to add to the meal. The owner quoated me $28!! FOR ONE STEAK SKEWER!!
I asked him to take it off the order. He followed this with explanation of how good quality the steak is...it is price Gouging to expect one skewer to be $28 alone. I would have no issues to pay even $10 for extra just for one skewer. I expressed how where I live up north it's not expensively priced he followed with " your area has nearby farms so it's cheaper" I didn't want to further comment or express how ridiculous this was. On top of that he was giving me the meal without the roasted tomatoes/onions and Parsley that are part of the meal. I'm in a Persian family and know the etiquet involved in the presentation and what goes as a staple for this meal.
Lastly,When my partner got his meal unfortunately, the koobideh ( ground beef skewers) was raw on the inside One tomatoe no onions no Parsley Also the Greek Salad was put together very sloppy huge chunks with Cucumber stems and red onion stem /roots Aaaand the vegetables/lettuce were completely swimming in oil that made the salad inedible.
Its sad that I felt I needed to give this review as all I wanted to support this local business during these difficult covid times as it was always a great experience in the past. It's a shame that the owner chooses to take advantage of his customers instead of supporting them also during these times. Very disappointing
I will never go back again. Buyer...
