Druxy's Famous Deli — Restaurant in Markham

If it were possible to write a review and leave zero stars I would. Today I took my lunch break and only had $20 cash on me. While standing in line I witnessed the daughter who was working the cash register at druxy's turn away an elderly man who was trying to pay for a cookie and slice of cake with currency from a different country. Not just the daughter but the mother both stood there behind that counter and repeatedly said no to this elderly man who would not explain himself well. I waited to see if I would have change from my lunch to buy the man the cookie but sadly 1 Cesar salad with a bottle of water came to $19.45 I only had 50 cents in change after that. I understand they are a business and that they cannot just give food away but the lack of compassion was absolutely disgusting. We are in a hospital after all. We all live by the values and mission statement Markham Stouffville sets forth but the family that runs this Druxy's lacks that compassion or any sense of morals. Based on what I saw today I will never eat here again. It takes a different kind of human to mistreat...

Disappointed by the judgemental staff member I encountered. I’m forced to budget where I can right now so I passed by Druxy’s for a bag of chips - the cashier felt the need to ask, “I guess we’re not looking for a balanced meal today then?” I’m in a period where I’m living paycheque to paycheque so am not in the best place emotionally, so unfortunately I’m still bothered by the comment and here I am. Why sell accessible food items if you’re going to judge your patrons for buying them? Anyways, I’ve tried some meal items as I’m often at this hospital and it’s good - by hospital...

Came here today to grab my husband lunch since our daughter just got surgery. Ordered a chicken Cesar wrap , and while I was waiting I watched a man that works there wearing an ID badge around his neck put his bare fingers into one of the foods to try and “pick” something out. After I got my husbands wrap being prepared by another lady, I asked if they were planning on throwing the other food out as I watched him put his bare fingers in it.

I will never go back if that is acceptable food...
