Food: 5 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Value: 5 Stars Overall: 4.5 Stars Note: CASH OR DEBIT ONLY I've visited Gyubee Japanese BBQ more than a dozen times, and it consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. The quality and taste of the food always meet my expectations, offering a delightful array of flavours that are truly commendable. The recent menu upgrade has added even more options, which I absolutely adore. The staff at Gyubee are consistently friendly and attentive, ensuring that each visit is enjoyable. Their quick response time and attention to detail enhance the overall dining experience. Whether it's explaining the menu options or promptly refilling our drinks, their service is always top-notch. One downside, however, is that Gyubee does not accept bookings for parties of two. This means I always have to make sure I join the waitlist in advance to avoid waiting in line for up to two hours during dinner time. It can be a bit inconvenient, but the delicious food and great service make it worth the effort. I usually visit Gyubee for casual dinners with friends and family, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is lively, and the all-you-can-eat concept allows us to try a variety of dishes without feeling rushed. From the perfectly grilled meats to the fresh vegetables and tasty sauces, everything is consistently delicious. In summary, Gyubee Japanese BBQ is one of my favourite dining spots. The combination of high-quality food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere keeps me coming back. If you're planning to visit, especially as a couple, I highly recommend getting on the waitlist early to ensure a smooth dining experience. Despite the waitlist issue, Gyubee remains a top choice for an enjoyable and flavourful meal. kellychan360

It's been my first time eating out since August and alot had changed since. Last time I ate out was actually here. The place has a waitlist that you can join in Yelp and the people here are very accommodating. They do a temp check before you're seated and all the staff have gloves and masks while working. There is much more seperation between the booths, and while a little claustrophobic it is rather safe. The menu has changed a bit though and I'm really sad that the basil chicken breasts are gone. There was only chicken thighs and one other thing. Which was fine but just a little dissappointing. But as always the servers are attentive, they brought food super quickly and it didn't take long to flag one down if we needed one. (The grill was catching fire so we asked to get it changed as they do throughout the service.). The squid tasted a bit off and It may just be simply because I didn't cook it right, but they understood when I told them I didn't want it. Even offered a manager. I declined, I just didn't want the squid anymore. They do have a default tip of 12% added to the bill, which I asked them to change to 15%. Like I said the staff was accomodating and awesome, and working hard to keep themselves and everyone else safe and happy. This place gave me a nice sense of "normalcy" in a time where it is very lacking. I don't leave the house anymore these days so it was a nice way to recharge in a way. I always love going to Gyubee, and while I prefer the downtown location, this one is also nice to go to. Thank you Gyubee team and staff!

Came down for dinner on Friday around 6pm and there was a lot of ppl in the waitlist. The worker would say the wait time is around 1 hr which was pretty accurate. You would receive a text that would inform you if your tables ready or it would direct you to Yelp to tell you your place in line. There's a variety of options to choose from beef, pork to veggie to seafood options. I'm very impressed with the selection of items you can choose from. Each time we placed our order, the food would come very quickly (less than 5 min wait). I found that all the meats were nicely marinated and juicy; especially the steak! We were able to have creme brûlée and a Melona each at the end. Wow, you must not skip the creme brûlée; it was not only soft, but it wasn't too sweet, and the caramelized top really went together to bring out that sweet taste you were craving for. Melona, they had Honeydew and strawberry to choose from. Service was great as our servers were usually very polite and told us everything we needed to know (including seating limit. One of the servers even helped us opened our hot tray of sake clams when he noticed the we were having a hard time. As we came on a Friday, so the price for an adult was $35.99 and with tips/tax included, the total was around $45 per person. A child (ages 5-10) would cost $15.99 for the weekend/Friday dinner. The only part that I didn't like was how much smoke was flying to my direction when we were cooking our meat; so I had a pretty strong smoke smell in the end.

Gyubee is a franchise done correctly. I live very close to the Markham one but it's always so busy, so I usually go to the Scarborough one. This week I tried my luck at the Markham location for lunch, and we were quoted a 1 hour wait so we decided to wait. We did end up getting a table exactly after the estimated time, which was much appreciated since we even had gone to the Costco nearby to kill time. We had arrived at 12:15 which is right after their opening at 12, and a few minutes after we signed up I noticed 20 more tables after us. So make sure to sign up as early as possible! Yelp waitlist opens only at 12:30 so that's probably why there was a huge number after us. The lunch menu is very good for $30. Yes, the dinner menu ($40) has a lot more items, but it's rare to find a good AYCE for $30 nowadays. Especially compared to other places like Shinta, that don't even offer a cheaper lunch menu. You can check their website for their menu and see that they offer some great cuts of beef for lunch, as well as my favorite bibimbap. The seating time is 1 hour 45 minutes which is very long for lunch. The service was fast and I felt no need to push myself to eat an unholy amount since it was only $30. The only thing I didn't love was the thick pork belly, which is more of a recent addition to the menu. Another recent addition is the chicken thigh, which actually cooks so well on the grill and gets a great char. But overall they have a great lunch selection and I'll definitely be back!

Definitely recommend this fun experience. Luxury Indoor BBQ experience with great Ambiance and welcoming setting. Away from the outdoors, away from the bugs and not having the BBQ scent imbedded into your pores. lunch on weekends, before taxes and gratuity lunch round up to approximately $25 per adult age 11yrs and up. Children 5-10 yrs old was $10 and Children under Four was less than $5. The fun part was cooking your choice of food and having the opportunity to thank/serve the cooked items to the elders or to someone you respect. I would strongly recommend making a reservation as the restaurant can get really busy especially when restaurant opens at lunch leading to dinner hours. Very professional and hygienic staff. Staff advise it’s a 90 minute seating limitation. As soon as we were seated and ordered food, the items arrived in less than 10 minutes. No need to worry about the place being Smokey or you smelling like BBQ. I was very surprised the exhaust system was very effective and very quiet!! The whole staff from Gyubee were very polite and efficient. . I appreciate the honesty when they informed us that tips were applied on the bill as there were 7 of us - non hidden surprises with the bill.👍🏼 Overall food was marinated to perfection, plenty of food choices, LOVE the light yet sweet dipping soya sauce, flame broiled taste was fantastic and best of all, excellent service!! Meat comatose 😆 Thank you Team Gyubee on Woodbine👏🏼

I recently visited a Japanese BBQ all-you-can-eat restaurant that I found through a Google search, excited for the culinary experience. The food quality and taste certainly met my expectations, providing a delightful array of flavors that are worth commending. However, my experience was marred by the restaurant's table arrangements and reservation policy. The reservation slots were limited to either 5:30 pm or after 7:45 pm, leaving a gap during peak hours for walk-ins only. Despite the presence of a large waiting area, I find the policy of not accepting reservations during peak hours inconvenient and disagreeable. My group of five was seated at a table meant for six, which had only one BBQ grill to share. The table was divided by a partition, creating a cramped and somewhat disjointed dining experience. One of our party was even placed at the end of the table with a temporary seat in the aisle, which was far from ideal. Given the two-hour limit for dining, we felt rushed to cook and eat, especially with just one grill among us. Although the food was served promptly, the logistics of sharing a single grill added unnecessary stress to our meal. To those considering this restaurant, I urge you to take these factors into account before sitting down. While the food is undoubtedly enjoyable, the seating arrangement and reservation policy may detract from your overall dining experience.
