3.5 Stars Review Steelestech | Parking garage (free 3hrs) | Chinese owned | Thai & Szechuan | Lunch Special | Dinner combo | Food app delivery | LLBO | Daily 11am-10pm | Card accepted First 3 hours of free parking garage parking available. Interior design is beautiful and clean; almost reminds me a lower grade of Lanna at downtown Markham. The servers spoke Cantonese and English and were nice and friendly. Their service reminds me a bit of HK style cafes. However they did mess up my orders a few times: - Gave me coconut soup instead of tom yum soup - Almost gave me chicken Pad See Ew instead of beef (but I corrected them) - Gave me regular rice when I asked for an upgrade to coconut rice - Almost didn't give me the dinner combo as the server thought it was weekdays only - I was also not offered fortune cookies Their drink menus don't list house wines by the glass but there were VQA Jackson's Trigg and Yellow Label for $8-9/ glass. The Dinner Combo on their paper menus state that it is $22.99 however the server said it's Monday to Friday only (I came on a Tuesday) and that it was $25.99. I did get the combo at the higher price as I mentioned that today is Tuesday and the menu doesn't say it's weekdays only. I did confirm on their website of the increased price. - Green curry with chicken Upgrade to coconut rice Coconut rice could be more coconuty .. wasn't flavourful enough The green curry could be spicier The bell peppers were still crunchy The chicken was your typical Overall it was ok, similar quality as what you'd get from any downtown Thai restaurant - Dinner Combo $25.99 Coconut veggie soup Chicken satay with green salad Pad See Ew with beef I did ask for Tom Yum soup but since they already said they made a mistake and gave me Coconut Soup, I just took it. It was ok. The broccoli could be softer. It seemed rather bland. The chicken satay meat was surprisingly not hard and dry like most skewers. But they could be a bit more generous on the meat. Their satay sauce was ok. Their Pad See Ew was not bad especially with their sauce. The noodles were still soft and tender. We almost expected broccoli instead of chinese broccoli. It wasn't too oily. Overall the plating was nice, I just didn't think anything really wow'd me and the fact that there were so many mistakes made my experience a bit uncomfortable. But I'll definitely come back for a second try; they were nice and I did come an hour before their closing hour. They did politely say thank you and goodbyes.

Drink lots of water. The fish sauce flows freely here… The restaurant has very minimalist decor. It is very classy and not overly Asian looking. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We went there right at opening and it was not busy at all. To get a sampling of the food , we ordered the Thai coconut soup, drunken noodles, mango sauce chicken, and the taste of Thai platter. The soup is good when it is piping hot. However, once the soup cools down, the soup is really (really) salty. The drunken noodles have a bit of spice and give a good kick. I usually expect drunken noodle noodles to be mushy and over cooked. But the noodles are nice and chewy, which was a really nice surprise. I highly recommend this dish. Full marks here. The taste of Thai platter offers a nice variety of things. There are 4 beef skewers, 4 chicken skewers, some (I think 5) fish cakes, and 4 shrimp spring rolls. Everything came with their own accompanying sauces. It was good but pricy. But a nice intro to Thai street food. The mango sauce chicken left a lot to be desired. The sauce was too sweet and salty at the same time. The fish sauce was liberally applied in this dish. It was not my favorite.. But if you like general tao chicken, this might be for you. We drank a liter of water each after an hour of eating and continued to be thirsty throughout the day. Not sure how much fish sauce was in everything but it seemed excessive after thinking about it. I give the food an overall score of 4 out of 5. We were full leaving, but it’s definitely on the expensive side. The place is worth a try. Very nice and quiet if you’re on a date and want a place to chat. Might come back to try other things. Will need to remember to ask for more water.

I visited the store around 2:30 today, and there were three people working at the front. I assume one of them was either the manager or the boss. We didn't feel particularly welcomed when we entered, but that was fine since we had driven 40 minutes to enjoy a meal based on the many positive reviews we had read.

We ordered coconut soup, mango salad, traditional Pad Thai, and Curry Lobster. I had two to three sips of the soup and probably five chunks of mango salad before our main dishes arrived. They looked good, but we hadn't tried them yet. As a waitress was cleaning the table beside us, she placed used cups on top of dirty plates and didn't carry a tray. As she passed our table, the cups fell to the floor, and the water spilled on my face, on the lady at the next table, and all over our dishes and chairs.

We were unsure how it happened, but we clearly saw the water drop onto our food. The waitress smiled and apologized as she walked away. I used a napkin to dry my plate and face, contemplating whether I should continue eating. Honestly, I didn't feel comfortable seeing leftover water from other people on my dishes.

I waved to get the manager/owner's attention and described what had happened. The waitress claimed the water was from the lobster dish, but I told them it was clearly from the cups, and the chairs were wet as well. I asked if we could have new dishes. The owner questioned me, asking if I wanted everything replaced. I said yes, but the soup and salad were fine since we had already tried them.

The owner then questioned me again, in a strange tone, asking if I wanted everything replaced. I was shocked by his attitude but remained calm and asked him to consider how he would feel as a customer. Suddenly, he suggested that we cancel the order and said we didn't need to pay and could leave. I was taken aback by this response, as it seemed he thought we were making things up.

If he had simply offered to replace the dishes, we would have been happy to pay. He didn't even apologize initially but took one of the dishes away and yelled at the waitress, blaming her for the trouble. She did make a mistake, but there are better ways to handle such situations. Finally, he came over, took the lobster away, and said he was sorry before walking away.

The table next to us saw everything and commented on the terrible customer service. I work in hospitality, and I understand that customers can sometimes be challenging. As a customer, I try to be easygoing, but this level of service was shocking. Additionally, I started to worry whether our dishes would be served to other customers, given the owner's attitude. Now, almost 12 hours later, I'm actually relieved that he asked us to leave. There's no guarantee that the dishes would have been properly replaced, and the whole experience has left me concerned about the standards of the establishment.

I would suggest the owner take a course in customer service and restaurant management. Proper training could help prevent situations like this in the future and ensure a better experience for...

I recently had my first dining experience at Canadian Thai, and it was enjoyable enough to make me want to go back. I came across their ads and decided to see if the reality matched. Right from the start, the atmosphere was inviting, with a cozy, well-decorated setting that made me feel at ease.

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by their staff Helen, who was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She helped guide my selections, suggesting a mix of dishes that she thought would cater to my tastes and curiosity.

I had the Mango Salad, which was very refreshing and had a perfect amount of spiciness to whet the appetite. The blend of sweet mango with the tangy dressing was a perfect start. Next, I tried the Tom Yum Soup, which was a revelation. It had a depth of flavor that was both complex and comforting, with hints of lemongrass and just the right level of heat.

The Curry Pad Thai main course was truly exceptional. It had a rich, flavorful sauce that coated the noodles beautifully, complemented by just the right amount of heat. The ingredients were fresh, and the portion size was generous. The Satay was tender and perfectly grilled, served with a creamy and spicy peanut sauce.

Hard to find a place with good food and great service that makes you feel truly welcome. Canadian and Thai cuisine might sound like an unusual mix, but at Canadian Thai, they blend it seamlessly. The menu offers a wide variety of choices to satisfy different tastes, and the high quality of the food and service is why many people love this place.

I left Canadian Thai with a satisfied palate and a smile, thanks to the delicious food and Helen’s wonderful hospitality. I’m already planning my next visit to explore more of what they...
