With the most appropriate name given to this quaint Café, "The Cats Meow" I do declare it to be the cats meow. This is the most comfortable I have ever been in a public cafe environment on a first visit. Normally it would take me a week or two before I could feel like a possible regular at any other place but this morning I felt an oddly familiar sense of well being and comfort as I wandered in and ordered a beautifully constructed BLT sandwich. As I sat down and looked around I quickly realised there was a lot to look at. It's a cat lovers paradise. The man behind the counter (and the grill, which is on a separate level, meaning he had to climb up and down the stairs to prepare my meal and back down again when a customer would come in to order a wonderfully Snelling coffee.) Ìs a friendly man with kind eyes and a welcoming smile and an easy going attitude that made it seem like I'd been there before. Yet I hadn't. It's not a mistake in identity either. It's just the way his good man operates. He didn't seem uninterested in my answers to his everyday small talk and questions, he seemed genuinely interested in what his patrons had to say. I have a feeling if I didn't just say I was fine and told him about my problems in life he might listen and then offer some friendly advice. You don't get this kind of service in the city too much anymore with franchises opening up on every street corner. The private independently run restaurants and cafés are in pockets all over Ontario. When you find one, hang on for dear life because it could soon turn into a Starbuck type "machine" where all the people behind the counter just want to be somewhere else. The Cats Meow is a great little place. Give it a try. You'll be back for more small talk, as well as careless, kind banter as well as great smelling coffee (I don't drink coffee sorry...) and fresh food. 10 out of 10 for this...

This isn't just a cafe; it's a community hub, a place where everyone seems to know each other and smiles are freely shared. Everytime I sit down and savor the food and drinks I connect with people, it's truly unlike any other cafe in Markham where everyone is disconnected.
The decor is charming, cat themed decor and accessories. On the second level there are cozy armchairs and chairs that invite you to sink in and stay awhile.
I have tried many items on the menu, I highly suggest the cattuccino, which warmed me from the inside out.
The grilled cheese, tuna sandwich, chicken sandwich, chicken fingers, and butternut squash soup are such great lunch choices. For breakfast: the omelette and pancakes are to die for !!
The food and drinks are truly made with love, and that makes all...

Food is not going to blow your socks off but it shouldn't give you a reason to turn around. Prices are very reasonable in this day and age, owner prepares all food fresh in the kitchen after you order it. The little cat on my coffee was so cute I didn't want to stir it.
Very cozy store and great atmosphere, if you play the guitar or piano, there's one to play while you wait. There's also outdoor seats if you'd like to relax outside.
Owner is very friendly and always has something to chat about when you visit, treats regulars or new comers all the same. Like others said it's not an actual cat cafe but it's a cat themed shop.
Store also sells muffins and ice cream all year round.
Not exactly somewhere I'd study or work but just to sit around and relax, it's a...
