Here's the thing. I got no issue with the pizza. Food is as mid as it always has been but we had a slight craving for pizza hut after many years. I used to come here as a kid before they shrunk into just a takeaway space. Perhaps new owners or whatever happened but the service was questionable today.
Here's the story: we ordered a weekend special pizza for a decent price, $15~ after taxes, but as we come home to eat the pizza, we are surprised by what seems to be a missing gap in the pizza! Yes! A gap! How is that even possible? We tried to line it up as best we could to try to make it make sense but it was a little too apparent to be a coincidence. Unless you're saying the pizza was cut prior to cooking and slices shrunk? I'll let you decide based on the picture attached.
We have filed a formal complaint to head office and we also called to speak to the manager about what might have happened here. When it comes to food, cleanliness is the utmost important. If someone has had their hands in my pizza, food, I should be aware of this and be made a fresh one that is clean and edible.
During our conversation with the manager, he, don't know his name, was dismissive and treated us like we were delusional, fair enough, why would there be a missing piece right? But take a look at the picture and you decide to see if any of that image makes sense. He said that he cuts all the pizza in the store. He raised his voice at my wife, which is already a big "no-no" when it comes to customer service. He wasn't even able to diffuse the situation, just dismissed it and said that he cannot do a thing about it. I mean, if he's the only one cutting, maybe he ate it? Who knows! Maybe while he was cutting, a piece fell on the floor and he covered it up?
The nastiest part of it all was what he claimed. "How many slices is there? Is there 12 slices?" Well, yes, there is technically 12 slices but as my wife pointed out, what's to stop someone from chopping an extra slice or two and still leaving 12 slices? Who says such a stupid argument? Honestly, if you, the owner read this, there's some customer service training that needs to be done.
Point is... Poor customer service and lack of accountability. Do not visit because you could be next. I don't want to spend my hard earned money on a place that will cheat me of...
Read moreWanted to try this location for the first time in a while. Ordered from uber eats 25 minutes before closing time. I felt a little guilty for ordering a little close to their closing but needed nice dinner after work and they were still active on uber so I went for it. Waited for over an hour because the uber app showed the delivery driver's going to the store to pick it up. I end up calling them, and the employee (who was still there 40 minutes after their closing time for some reason, more than capable of making my order of a small pizza for myself) answered bluntly with "we're closed" and proceeded to cut me off multiple times in a extremely rude tone when I tried to explain my situation while telling me to talk to uber instead. I get that a call after closing is annoying, but there has to be a bottom line to basic customer service, especially when an order 25 minutes before closing should be nothing new a Pizza Hut. Would not listen to a word I tried to say, and I work in a restaurant, so I know how much good customer service means to the actual customers, but this was the worst customer service I've ever had. I did not expect a place like Pizza Hut to be closing early like this with no notice, or to be treating customers with such disrespect. No wonder everyone in Markham says this location is the worst now. Definitely will not be back, and would not recommend anyone to go here.
(it is the restaurants responsibility to pause uber orders IF they are closing early to prevent situations...
Read moreAs a black woman who already has to navigate systematic racism, I recently had a disheartening experience at this Pizza Hut, where the server, Gagnon, exhibited behavior that I found to be both racist and sexist. I had placed an online order for pizza, and upon arriving to collect my order, I inquired about the availability of the washroom. Gagnon informed me that it was out of service. Interestingly, within 10 seconds, I observed someone exiting the washroom and someone else entering. When I questioned Gagnon about the discrepancy, he insisted that it was not working and that the men had just gone in to wash their hands. To my surprise, the woman making pizza beside him contradicted this information, confirming that the washroom was indeed in proper working order. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and detracted from what is usually a pleasant dining experience at Pizza Hut. As a customer, I believe in the importance of promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment in any establishment. It's disheartening to encounter...
